Hello; I just installed a IPC-HDW1320S in my backyard but the image is horrible where i cannot make out anything. I have tried adjusting image sliders but its not working out. I used to have a no name cam that was out there and lasted about 5 years but that image was great.

Any suggestions on what i can do to fix this?

.....Thats useless.....if you take it off " auto" you might have a chance to tweak it, but on cheaper models they often don't have many adjustments in "manual" that will help every situation.

Plus the sensor is too small at 3 Megapixes. Adding a lot more light either visible or IR would be one solution. But in most cases not practical. Some will say it would would work well with 'stadium lighting'.

One could also lower the shutter speed (if adjustable) to 1/10 second (100 ms) or less. However, that would not allow for good video of a moving person. The data sheet does not indicate that shutter speed adjustments are available thus this possibility would be a no go.

Overall, the best use would be for a paper weight! The next best solution is to replace it with any of Dahua 5442 line of cameras either in a bullet or turret format.

NOTE
Andy is having a sale on Dahua cameras starting on the July14th if interested in a replacement.

Set up an external IR light or LED light, camera is too old for the low light places, time to replace with the starlight tech.

The only thing that will improve that is adding a lot of external light, IR or white
