Hikvision NAS issues

Hey guys,
I've done a lot of researching this before posting but I still can not get my new Hikvision PTZ to record to my freenas drive. I've been running trendnet cameras for years with no issues recording to the drive. On the trendnet web gui you could set a quota of 200gb which seemed to fix the issue and let it record. On the hikvision I can not set a quota. I see where you *could* set it but when I click on the box nothing happens. I've deleted everything in the folder and tried reformatting with no luck. I believe the issue is because the drive is to large. I read on here to set the quota before formatting but I can not do that. Any ideas? I've attached a photo to better explain what is happening. Thanks!

That certainly would be the case on older firmware - which had an approximate 200GB limit.
But I thought Hikvision had made some improvements in the newer firmware which is presumably what the new PTZ has.
Presumably you can configure FreeNAS to put a limit on the volume size to experiment with where the boundary is.

To my knowledge there is no volume size quota setting on the Hikvision firmware.
Presumably you can 'format' it and it returns to 'uninitialised' when done?
 
Thank you for the help. I installed a smaller drive (around 100G) and now it works. Formatted and recorded fine. I wish Hikvision would create a fix for this so we can use larger drives.
 
You can use any size drive you want, you just need to partition a volume that is less than 200GB from the larger drive, and record to that volume. But yes, it would be nice to be able to point to any size drive or volume, and via Hikvision interface set the amount of space to use.
