Are there any alternative DVR/NVR/Camera software tools that will allow you to connect to a Hik DVR besides the official IVMS-4200? Even though I have decent hardware, the newer versions of IVMS take a minute to come up, not exactly an eternity, but I don't need a full NVR recording package to come up when I just want to take a quick look at what is going on. CMS 2.0 seems to work OK and is much faster but maybe there is something better out there?

I works fine, but I have to login, then load cameras and stuff, it probably takes longer just than bringing up IVMS.
Exactly what I was looking for. I agree, the program has some limitations, but it comes up in about 5 seconds versus a minute. I'm willing to take those limitations for the performance boost. Thank you!

That might work for some,but I'd prefer to keep the amount of ports open to a minimum so I don't want to have RTSP open as well.
