Purchased this camera from Andy, because of the recommendations on here. I can't get it to be seen on my network. I use the Config tool but it does not find anything. I am using the POE function, but don't see any activity. The spec's show it supports POE, but it doesn't show up..............

Are you using a p o e switch? Also why the config tool is supposed to see cameras on a different subnet it may not be... Ensure the PC you are using is on the same subnet as the cameras default IP address... There are many threats that discuss this.

Use internet explorer to configure the camera. Not chrome or firefox.
I beleive the dahua Camera ip address is 192.168.1.108
Ok, the tool now sees my camera, but says something about password wrong when I try to change the IP address. My server IP is 192.168.10.1 and I have used the MAC address of the camera to set a reserve IP address in my router. I am using a POE switch/injector for the setup. I have setup my Hikvision and Trendnet cams without these issues...........

Is there a way to reset the camera to factory install??? I keep getting a password error when I try to change the IP address, but not place to use a password using that config tool. It is already initialized...

Connect the camera to the switch.
Disconnect every thing else.
Change the PC is address to 192.168.1.xxx
Login to the camera, change the camera ip address to the router sub net. 192.168.10.xxxx
Set the PC address back to what it was.
Reconnect everything.
Cameras use static IP addresses.
Set a block of address in the router for static IP addresses.
search the web forum.

Edit: Success, thank you. Went into my Asus router settings and change IP address from 192.168.10.1 to 192.168.1.1 as per your recommendations. I was then able to log into the camera using the default IP address of 192.168.1.108 from Internet Explorer. From there, I downloaded the app to my Android phone using the bar code that was displayed on the screen. Using the Android app, I used the reset password option from the Android app. They then emailed me my code to change the password.
Now I am all good, just have to set up the camera.

BTW, after changing the IP address of my camera to 192.168.10.xx, I logged back into my router and changed the IP back to 192.168.10.1.
With apologies for the intervention - but I believe some advice is needed :
That is not a good thing to do, you could well dig a big hole for yourself messing with the router when you don't understand subnetting. Best not touch the router.
It was the PC IP address that you were advised to change, to match the range used by default in the camera.
I never said to change the IP on the router. It is possible to really hose a network...
I said to change the address on the PC, to the 192.168.1.xxx subnet.
connect the pc to the poe switch, then connect it to the Camera.
change the camera IP to 192.168.10.xxx
change the PC back to 192.168.10.xxx , PC previous address
The router block off a set/range of addresses for the static camera IPs. So the static addresses are not available to DHCP.

I attempted to use a laptop, using your method but no success. Anyway, I am not a novice on the router, I tinker with everything. So, only took me a few minutes to change my IP address from 192.168.10.x to 192.168.1.x on my router. Reverted back after I set a static address for the cam.

This method would have worked the best, probably, if I was able to figure out how to change the laptop's IP address. I did watch a video a few minutes ago showing how to do that, but too late, already done. But again, I know my router pretty well, and not intimidated by it.
