Getting the hang of it

Just purchased a 507-20XC PTZ camera that has not yet arrived.
I am an amateur radio operator (HAM) and a weather enthusiast.
I plan on using my camera more for sky conditions as opposed to security.
I am hoping the included software will allow me to set 8 predefined areas, snap a shot at each and then repeat about every 30 minutes. Upload to my web server.
If not will have to have a look at the Blue Iris.
I do not really intend to make remote operation available to the public, have to see where band width comes into play.
I went with a camera with some zoom as opposed to a fixed lens due to sometimes it helps to close in on what you are seeing.
Look forward to the help I know I will get from here.

I am using a Davis Vantage Pro2 with the solar and UV sensors. I use a wired version, get too cold here to mess with batteries.
I run Cumulus software.
Did not like the static (one area of the sky) most people have, and did not want to have multiple cameras.
And yes I stumbled across your tools several weeks ago which is what got me into going this route.
I am hoping between the two (camera and software, I can achieve what I want.

I'm not even certain if Blue Iris can do what you want; every 30 minutes move to 8 positions and upload pictures from each. That might require custom software. I have never tried.

Received Email back from Blue Iris, they "THINK" I can make it work.
If not, can use third party software to rename and up load the images, I hope
