Hi All!

I have a single Amcrest IP3M-941 wireless PTZ camera that I use in a location where running ethernet was not practical. I have 23 other Amcrest/Dahua cameras using POE. All of this is running in Blue Iris 5.7.8.1.

My issue that the substream shows up fine, but the main stream usually does not (in UI3). I'm wondering if my encoding settings are correct or if there is something that I need to do differently with the Main stream profile for the camera.

Note - I mostly experience the issue using the UI3 interface. I can launch the main stream using the Amcrest Surveillance Pro software without an issue.

Here are my camera encoding settings:

Note - I don't know why this is set to 720p. Bumping up to 1080p caused the camera to zoom in a lot in BI...

Blue Iris camera config:

Notice the 0.00/0.00 fps and the yellow exclamation point icon

One important clue that I notice right off the bat - my camera settings are 720p for main stream (which = 0.9MP --> exactly what I'm getting for the sub-stream). The VGA sub-stream setting should be something like 0.3MP. Maybe I have my Main Stream / Sub Stream profiles setup incorrectly in BI (see below)?

Sometimes I get some weird I/O errors:

Here is my Blue Iris "Stream Profile"

I really think that the Main and Sub streams are not configured correctly...

Any help would be appreciated. This camera is facing the breakfast table and I like to be able to keep an eye on my young kids when they're doing homework.

Match encode type for main and sub - make them both H264.

Since it is wifi, I suggest making the FPS for main and sub the same.

Try 15FPS and 15 I interval and see if that gets it going.

And then you have two different stream profiles in BI make them match but for Channel make main 0 and sub 1. Try:

main:

/cam/realmonitor?channel={CAMNO}&subtype=0&authbasic={AUTH64}&proto=Onvif

sub:
/cam/realmonitor?channel={CAMNO}&subtype=1&authbasic={AUTH64}&proto=Onvif

wittaj - thanks for the super fast response (as always)!

I made the changes that you suggested - but the camera signal doesn't appear to be found by BI (I confirmed that my user/password are correct).

If I remove the "&proto=Onvif" from the end of the stream profile, the camera is found - but the Main FPS is still 0.00/0.00

I am able to pull up the "main" stream in UI3 though - which is good. Just not sure if it will work correctly or continuously.

Any idea why the 720p main profile is necessary instead of something like 1080p (like this camera is supposed to be capable of?)

That is a head scratcher.

Did you rotate the image in the GUI - changing it to corridor mode or turning 90 can restrict the resolution.

Try copying the ONVIF Source at the bottom into the blank box.

Bump receive buffer up to 20 or 40MB

I don't recall ever rotating or changing the camera in the GUI (how can I tell?)

I bumped up the buffer to 40MB.

I'm not 100% sure what you meant by the "blank box".

I was able to change the resolution to 1080p in the Amcrest settings, but the main FPS is still 0.

That screen shot shows VideoSource_1 in both ONVIF source boxes at the bottom.

I guess if everything works, try to get over the OCD triangle? Not sure why it is showing 0FPS.

You could try another profile and see if that gets it going:

I tried both of those Make/Model profiles and neither fixed the Main FPS issue...

I am not familliar with the 941 but have a couple of the 841's. FWIW I let BI do its "Find/Inspect and it filled in like this.

Hey - this (mostly) worked!!

I'm not getting an FPS (and the 1080p MP appears to be working!)

I did have to remove the "&proto=Onvif" code in the stream profile for it actually connect:
