Awesome that you can look up. Not sure we can see a difference at 60fps. How is low light sensitivity compare to the old larger PTZ?
 
From what I have seen, the new dahua ptz's look upward slightly. I really haven't seen much a difference at 60fps either. I'm sure a trained eye or a side by side comparison might be able to tell a difference. I have had the older version ptz and the low light was great. The newer ones work alittle better and have more options in settings.
 
The old ones went to zero degrees, the one you got goes to -15 degrees according to the Dahua tech at ISC, pretty impressive for a PTZ to go up that high. The Axis PTZ's go up about -5 degrees. 60fps makes more sense in a casino or jewelry store where you are trying to capture the nuance of slight of hand. Also, at night, not sure you can get 60fps because of the maximum shutter speed. May have to be set to 1/90 to get 60fps.
 
That is the big 2mp 30x all the way on the left in the pic from the ISC show. In order to set it for 60fps, I have to drop it down from 2mp though.
 
I imagine you'd have to inspect the video frame-by-frame to get any real benefit from 60fps :)

I'll be impressed when they build one that can do long (e.g. 60 second) exposures and do so without high noise levels.
 
If we're talking wish list, I wish dahua would adopt the IR function that my ptz has. In mine, IR can be turned off manually with iris and incrementally turned brighter and lower with iris +/- It is a very slick ability to have. Dahua does have some IR control in the OSD menu, but being able to use iris to actually control IR intensity on the fly is freakin awesome and something I miss when using dahua. If they could incorporate that ability into the software, home run...at least in my opinion.
 
Does the Dahua PTZ have auto tracking of motion or is that dependant on the dvr/software?
 
Shock, that's not really on my wish list. The IR's are smart IR's, and they also are zoom priority so they go stronger or weaker according to how much your zoomed in or out. Does your PTZ automatically
have that feature?

They have one model that is auto tracking I believe. You pay extra for that. There might be software that could get any of the ptz's to autotrack though.
 
On the Dahua PTZs I have tried, the Iris controls actually control an Iris. And they did in fact have some level of IR control but you had to use the HTTP / CGI API to control it.

Yes, I have zoom priority set as well. I also have settings for motion detection, so when the camera is sitting idle the ir can be at a programmed intensity and then when there's motion they come up to another brighter programmed intensity. The software control for ir is one of this cameras strong points. Even though I have zoom priority set, manual iris control at any time is very useful to fine tune the intensity on anything you're tracking- turning it down, lower, or brighter on the fly. It's slick for sure and one of the reasons I chose this camera because the ir control is sweet. Zoom priority on the dahua is fine and completely normal for most all ptz's. I have no problem with it. It's just this insun camera has extra control that is handy.
