Firmware upgrade timed out HDW-5442T-ZE

Hey team i just tried to upgrade my HDW-5442T-ZE with the latest official firmware from (2.820.15OG001.0.R,2021-07-06) to (DH_IPC-HX5XXX-Volt_MultiLang_PN_Stream3_V2.840.0000000.13.R.220110) from the dahua website and got Session timeout before it started loaded the firmware.

Now I've lost the ability to view the video from the IPC on my NVR and a reboot has not helped, what should my next steps be?

I was going to try pulling it out of the ceiling and do a manual reset or try log into it directly but will wait for advice lest i make things worse.

Try to make a hard reset on the camera, press the reset button for 5-7 seconds.
That dahua fw not support smart IR, not worth to update. Use this one.

You can update the firmware on Andy's cameras and NVRs from the Dahua website, but you will find that the firmware we get from him is actually better and more recent than what is on the Dahua website (regardless of the firmware date) because many members here provide feedback to Andy and then Dahua makes modifications to the firmware and sends back to him and then he sends out to his customers.

These have been great improvements that Dahua doesn't even update their firmware and add to their website. So many of us are running a newer firmware than those that purchase Dahua cameras through professional installers.

Smart IR on the 5442 series is one such improvement that is not on the firmware you updated to.

Autotracking on the 49225 PTZ is another.

We got the next version of AI SMD 3.0 prior to anyone else as well.

I recovered the IPC and am now flashing Andy's linked firmware, thanks heaps. I think i need to adjust the calibration also as i believe i could get a clearer image.

I downloaded the file and unzipped it. I see it holds 3 files. I assume I only need to upload the Multilang_NP_Stream3_ bin version to the camera? Why are these other two files there?

Ok I updated using the first one. That went ok. But if I compare it with my other (the same model) camera which is not updated, I see that the new update camera does not show Smart Ir. On the non updated one it is available. Is that ok?

@mr_ipcam , the firmware from Dahua, version 2.84.000000.5 does not have Smart IR in it. @EMPIRETECANDY 's version of the firmware does. That is why your versions differ. Decide which one you want after testing them under your condition.

Don't use dahua online fw, just use ours.
