I have 5.4.0 too. but at other house.

5.4.1 comes with newer WebComponents.exe
Apart from that, I haven't noticed any differences yet

I have just gone from 5.4.0 to 5.4.1 and my email alerts are back on, so this has been fixed.
I am not a Gmail user.

My DS-2CD2342WD-I have been upgraded to V5.4.1 build 160525.
I also have a DS-2DE4220IW-D, but it is still on V5.4.0 build 160418, which has an email bug. No release for that yet.

will be fixed in Nov/Dec firmware '5.4.4', I was speaking with HikVision yesterday regarding this.
