Hi, I'm new to the world of NVR and this forun also I just got the NVR DS-7900 from China and tried lot of stuff from this forum and other to activate English language but still fails. I don't know if one of you already tried to activate English on this model, it will help me a lot if you can share your experience.
I tried wzhick sollution (http://www.ipcamtalk.com/showthread...anguage-extract-files-and-create-own-firmware) but got to type of error, the first one:

Connect client[192.168.1.9] success


Open file[C:\Cam\5.30 Downgrader\5.30 Downgrader\econt_Vision-AV2000] failure

second one when I change my computer IP to 192.0.0.128:
TFTP server[192.0.0.128] initialized
Connect client failure,0

I tried also to upload the file directly from the web page of the NVR and got an error message "获取升级进度失败" google translate Failure to obtain the upgrade progress


This is more information about my DVR/NVR translated with google:

Equipment Type: DS-7932N-E4 / 16P
Master version: V3.3.4 build 150616
Encoded version: V5.0 build 150507
Web version: V4.0.1 build 150505
Plugin version: V3.0.5.40

If someone have any idea why I can't change it to English ...

What firmware file / version did you try to update the NVR with? It already seems to be on the latest release.
The first thing to try, in my view, is to ask the seller to supply firmware with English menus for the NVR.

Open file[C:\Cam\5.30 Downgrader\5.30 Downgrader

Hopefully this is just a folder name, and doesn't have the digicap.dav file associated with what the folder is called, as that's camera firmware.

I tried to upload the file provide in wzhick post (hiktools05R1.rar there's the digicap.dav inside) changed the lang to 1
Edit: Do you think it's possible to downgrade the firmware?

I don't recall wzhick posting a digicap.dav file. What post are you referring to?
Be aware that the specific firmware file (almost all of which use the same filename digicap.dav) MUST match the hardware that is being updated.

Actually can you tel me if I should look at the Master version or Web version for my firmware version?
Do you think I can got the firmware from hikvision Chinese website?

I found the firmware on their website http://www1.hikvision.com/cn/download_more_699.html#prettyPhoto "DS-78,79N-EX series supports fluorite cloud package" checked the digicap.dav iLanguage was already at 1 EN/ML the upload via the interface worked this time but when the NVR reboot no english still only chinese
