DS-7608N-E2/8P firmware

I got DS-7608N-E2/8P bought from Aliexpress about a year and half ago
can I upgrade it to this firmware?

Why upgrade it?

If you bought it from HK it will be a chinese version, updating it with an international firmware will most likely brick it. I would not even try it unless you know what you are doing.

I took a gamble and upgrade it after reading a few more thread and it works perfect no issue

Firmware Version V3.4.91 build 161220

Hi binh25, I'm in the same situation with a DS-7604N-E1/4P. Can you share some details? Which FW did you use, English or Multi Language?

I used English one, the upgrade is fairly smooth, didn't encounter any issue, after the upgrade, reboot, done and I did over the Web GUI not at the terminal

Multiple sources for the firmware choice - which did you try?
Only if your NVR is EN region - DOWNLOAD PORTAL

Yes, that is the same source as the OP.

My NVR was bought via aliexpress a couple of years ago. I was previously able to upgrade the FW to V3.1.0 build 150511 from the Hikvision US site. With that one success, I also tried NVR - DS-76xxNI-E1(E2)P_Firmware_v3.4.3_160822 from the US site also with no luck.

My NVR was sourced from aliexpress, but the menus are in English. Is that what you mean?

Also, I find it strange that I was originally able to load FW from the US site...

It's the region / language code that's built in to the flash area that holds the hardware configuration.
Also the group of 4 letters in the serial number can be an indication.
