12 cameras on this recorderDS-7616NXI-I2 / 16P/S some thermal all alerts perfect bar this one camera at an entrance. During day not too bad but night time alerts barely work at all in or out. Thought it was headlights but not working heading out either. At a loss at this stage.
Help appreciated

As are we without any details of how you've configured the camera, or what you are aiming to achieve, or examples of the scene the camera is covering.
Put yourself in the position of the reader who knows nothing of your setup.

Thanks no problem I understand don't post too often.
Customer wants alerts at an entrance. I normally use line or intrusion without issue.
Camera is zoomed on a gate and entrance max 30ft from camera.
Max Size, min size area/lines set.
Even tested with motion alarm which seems to be not much better. Have tried a different camera too.
Headlights and taillights would be in line with camera if that making a difference. As I say all day no problem but once it darkens. Very very few alerts. Had customer driving in and out while I made changes .
It's an acusense camera. Maybe I should be changing all settings on camera not nvr.

Thank you

Is the problem when the camera changes to Night mode and IR comes on?
If so, how well is the scene lit, and is it solely by the camera IR?
What are the IR configuration settings in the camera?
Can you provide a night-time snapshot or screenshot?

Maybe I should be changing all settings on camera not nvr.
Yes, generally that would be the best method.
The camera web GUI can be accessed via the right-hand column of links in the NVR web GUI Camera Management' page if Virtual Host is enabled under Network | Advanced settings | Other tab.
Not all camera settings are available via the NVR, and it is the settings on the camera itself that determine how it operates.
