Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Here are the final samples from me for this set as I need to move on to some other projects. (small SD3 2mp and 4mp "cheap" 16x PTZ cams and some "super" NVR's)
I think all these cameras are very good depending on your location and budget.
These are recorded from the camera's web GUI @ 1440.

I tried to get the same settings for all the cameras for comparison.
The first part is with no LED illumination and then @ ~ 6:50 I have the LED's coming on and then some AI SSA enabled.

thanks @jmcu for videos..

interesting is that 38PRO works very well in that scenario...

question is how 58PRO perform?

maybe there is no reason to limit out selfs to 4Mpx when WizColor 8Mpx can perform in many installations...

One thing I noticed (and I have never used AI SSA or run SSA backlight at night so I'll experiment)

is the HDR? effect on the white LEDs on the new models. It appears to work like Smart IR is supposed to (and does on some models)

Now it's called: Illumination Overexposure Remover

And works for both IR and white..

ps. not require classic or AI SSA

Yes, the 38Pro works very well in this location, it is only 10' away from the other ones but it is aiming down a bit.

I think the 4k has it uses in certain places, but many like to use them for everything.

The Illumination Overexposure Remover seems to work well in a area that has some lighting, if you recall in the total dark areas it had some issues adjusting, not bad but could be better, as well did the Smart IR with the 54IR-S3 with the IR.

I think you can fine tune any one of these cameras to have a great picture.
You just need to decide if you want the LED's as a deterrent or even as walkway lighting as they are pretty bright.

AS is the fixed lens and the ZE is the varifocal lens that gives you a little zoom capabilities for the installation.

Would you say that the AS is the new front door camera?

How do these compare to the 4k colors?
I think the color 4k still has plenty of life left in it, I have seen others make this camera have a beautiful image.

Any one of these cameras with 2 way talk would make a good front door cam, IMO they are better than doorbells if you have the area for a camera.
Keep in mind the 5X PRO cameras are a bit larger and may look too large if set right in front of the entryway, if there is room and the correct angle to mount off to the side they would be just fine I think.

AI SSA now as a build in function, so will not show it anymore.

I have one more question:

can you describe what difference is between IR/white lights on 54PRO-ZE & 54PRO-AS?
Does both cams have 4 multicore LEDs (all 4 can be both white and IR) or they have divided diodes (only 2 white and only 2 IR)?
what range & distribution over video frame compare? does -ZE model have settings for near / far power in IR settings?

You can manual control both IR and white. They added it back (on S3 its removed, on S2 is was possible). Far&Near can be 100% at the same time

you can also use the white LED as warning light linkage (like TIOC) for events. Didnt test if it still working with smart illumination, but with IR only it will blink and IR is still on. @Chokolinho ask somewhere for alarm functions.

541RZE still looks the clearest and sharpest to me. There's a huge difference in the cars. Maybe Dhaua need to look at the lenses they're using vs the 541 ZE's. The 541ZE is slightly more washed out, but I'd take it over the other 3 anyday due to clarity and sharpness.

It's strange how the ZE versions of both cameras seem to have the better lens when photographic convention would normally say zoom lenses tend to be lower quality than prime because of the additional elements.

Were all of those set on 20ms exposure?

I noticed quite a bit of blur on freeze framing most all of them. I'll typically not run any slower than 8ms, 5-7 if I have enough light. Running 6ms on the 3449 Pro currently

I run my 4kt's at 4ms. I noticed even on 6ms in very dark conditions you can get artefacts on quick movement with people when they're close to the camera. Be interesting to see an 8ms & 4ms comparison.

Also gain looks slightly high at 60. I noticed a bit of pulsing / sparkling in the image. Although liveable, I can't help but feel 50ms might work better for PQ if not light.

Without counting the models with heated front glass, there are 33 different models of these new cameras. Here I'm breaking down the minimum illumination and LED lighting specs.

Keying off the model numbers, there are logically 3 camera series:
PRO - 4, 6, 8 megapixel models, all with 4 LEDs.
IL-T (T does not mean turret) - 4, 5, 8 megapixel models, bullets have 4 LEDs, turrets 2 LEDs
IL-E - 4, 5, 8 megapixel models, fixed focal bullet only, 2 LEDs, smaller cases than T series bullets

PRO series, Minimum Illumination spec color/B-W
Fixed focal 4MP 0.0004/0.0003
Fixed focal 6MP 0.0005/0.0003
Fixed focal 8MP 0.0005/0.0003
Standard zoom all models 0.0006/0.0003
Long zoom all models 0.0007/0.0004

PRO series, Illumination Maximum Distance spec, IR light/White light, in meters
All fixed bullet 80/60
All fixed turret 60/50
Bullet standard zoom 60/60
Turret standard zoom 60/50
Bullet long zoom 120/80

IL series, Minimum Illumination spec color/B-W
All models 4MP 0.0007/0.0004
All models 5MP 0.0009/0.0005
All models 8MP 0.0008/0.0004

IL series, Illumination Maximum Distance spec, IR light/White light, in meters
All T-series fixed bullet 80/60
All E-series fixed bullet 50/50
All fixed turret 50/50
Bullet standard zoom 60/60
Turret standard zoom 50/40
Bullet long zoom 120/80

There were a few data sheet inconsistencies that looked like errors to me, which I "corrected". Check the official data sheets before making model decisions!
