I bought this camera a week ago and the first day I installed it I saw during the daytime it would turn extremely bright, then back to normal. During the nighttime it would go dark and then back to normal. The IR light turns on and off as I assume it's adjusting thinking it's day/night time. Anyone have any idea how I can fix this? I am getting so many motion detections I am tearing my hair out!

That's not your ir going on and off, that's your mechanical ir filter owning and closing. If you stand near the camera you can probably hear an audible click sound. You can try to adjust your day/night sensitivity but I'm guessing the light sensor or associated circuit has an issue. You can also disable the ir cut in you settings to stop the switching and just set timers for day and night mode, and avoid the automatic switching altogether.

Welcome Kevin123,

Set the camera in color mode only ( that is B&W / IR off ) and see if the issue goes away.

How would I create set timers for day and night mode? I have no option for that in SmartPSS or the web browser Dahua NVR I believe.

Timers and schedules are setup within the camera web gui. There should be a tab for setting time related b/w or color using ir cut, or left to be controlled by light levels.
