Dahua H2.65 IPC-HFW4431R-Z 2.8mm ~12mm

There is a street light right at the driveway entrance and the two lights either side of the door are on a dusk/dawn sensor so are also on all night. I might have to rig one up as I’ve seen a review where the camera ir was completely whiting out faces but others where it looks fine.

These images were taken at 9pm with my phone.

And this is the image from my hikvision 2032 at 9pm.

Ok, so I’ve had my two 4431rz delivered, and before I go to the trouble of installing them could any of the first few posters on this thread who actually use these cameras give their feedback ?
If these really are not that good at night time then I may just re sell them and spend the extra on the 2mp starlight 5231rz if it’s miles apart in quality ? I assume the 5231 is upgradable if need be as aposed to the 4431 which is not ?
Thanks
This model is cheap for the normal installation company, they can sell a good price. But for the 5231R-Z much more expensive for them, so most installers only use cheap ones for the projects. For home users better buy some better models.

Here is mine, with BLC on, everything is on Auto and Color Mode on.
It is almost dark outside, 7:30PM.

This is the 4431 tibimakai ? You seem to have good lighting, do you have any images of the 5231 at all.
Thank you.

Yes, it is the 4431. I have only one installed temporarily at the moment, and it is set to black and white(Auto), looking across my porch.

These shots are made, with my Note 8 from my laptop.

Have ordered a 5231R-ZE from Andy, so will use the 4431’s for non vital areas.

These look like decent entry level cameras. How can I tell if it's the Chinese version or the upgradable international version? If anyone has a link to reputable ebay listing it'd be appreciated.

I have to be honest, for £55 each they are spot on image wise, I’ve a starlight model on the way but the night image from the 4431 is loads better than my hikvision 2032. Could do with knowing the best settings for these to even out the night image though as the area of my camper is obviously really light due to being a white van.

Xco, I think they are a Chinese market camera only so cannot be upgraded, the starlight I have on the way was more than twice the price so I’m hoping I’ll be suitably impressed, going to use the starlight lower down for id purposes hopefully and leave this one as a general area camera.

And found that the camera try to connect to internet and use a lot of bandwidth (over 100Kb/s), 400MB/less than 1 hour. If I change the DNS to 1.0.0.1 then the camera uses only few KBs. Anyone experiences with this?

Yes me. I loaded the firmware you mention above...I still had it calling back to China. Posted back in that thread and nothing. I used my internal firewall to block the 2 cameras I have. I will be replacing them in the future as to me the CPU in them are slow. They are great camera's for the price. But I'll be upgrading them eventually.
