I would like to find other firmware version for a couple of Dahua models. Is there something I am missing or something only distributors can get?

+1 for the FTP site. They have many different firmware versions for most Dahua models ... just not the Chinese versions as far as I have been able to tell. They are a true boon to the community.

Do we know who runs the site?
 
I've just received three HDW4431C-A cameras that I ordered last week. Two of them have this firmware:
Software Version 2.420.0000.17.R, build : 2016-03-13
WEB Version 3.2.1.331232
ONVIF Version 2.4.2

And the third has this:
Software Version2.420.0000.21.R, Build Date: 2016-07-24
WEB Version3.2.1.364036
ONVIF Version2.42

I see that on the above-mentioned FTP site, there are these firmware files:

DH_IPC-HX4XXX-Eos_Eng_P_Stream3_V2.460.0000.4.R.20160621

General_IPC-HX4XXX-Eos_Eng_P_Stream3_V2.460.0000.4.R.20160621

Is the HDW4431C-A classified under or belong to the IPC-HX4XXX-Eos line? Would one of the above be the correct file to use to update all 3 of my cameras?

What is the difference between the DH vs General bios types?
 
The spreadsheets included on the ftp site have a list of every supported model number and it tells you which firmware file applies to each.

As far as I have been able to tell, DH firmware puts the Dahua logo in the corner of the web interface, while General firmware puts some generic text there. I have not noticed any other differences.

You need to be sure choosing the right one! I had tried to install for my cam this one: ftp://ftp.asm.cz/Dahua/kamerove_systemy/_Firmware/04IPC/IPC-HX4XXX-Eos/DH/1606/
but with this Version i bricked my cam. I was hard to find out to resolve the bootloop and flashed the 1601er Version from telnet which is now working again. You have only 5-10 sec. to stop sonia with the newer cams, so it´s really tricky

I have learned to be patient, when installing new images, better to test it from telnet, because only here you can see if the image is working. The config tool doesn´t proof the compatibility!

I have mailed them, that the firmware is broken, but unfortunately they didn´t removed it.
 
Someone can sell me the firmware for my cameras in Russian? I'm ready to pay for it! Maybe there is a person who will be able to change the language on my registrars, I'm also ready to consider it! Please, who can help me write to my e-mail Churiloff@inbox.ru
