Dahua AcuPick

Acupick is probably good for police with thousands of cameras around a city used to quickly locate the escape route of a crook.

You would set it to record all cameras 24/7 Full Time along with Intelligent recording to allow specific events to be searched

Thank you. Is it normal that in NVR UI in playback when checking "intelligent" parts of a recording everything is recorded 10 seconds too late? I have to check those events manually in general mode

If you are using VMD I often see the alert hashmark appears “late”

I believe this is because VMD needs to see the full object and decide/categorize it as human, vehicle etc.

If you use straight IVS such as Tripwire it usually doesn’t depending on how well you have your rule lines drawn.

^^ THIS...

IVS is for perimeter protection - it must work fast... reports first frame with specific person / vehicle...

Video Meta Data - is more for cataloging people and vehicles. It sees a specific person/car for many seconds and tries to select the best one from the many available video frames.

Also using many video frames, it tries to calculate VMD attributes (face, cloth type & colors, car manufacturer/type/color etc)..

Dahua 5442 in the full VMD mode captures snapshots of car license plate much better than IVS because it selects a frame where it is readable.

I forget, is VMD dependent on AcuPick on some "Lite cameras" ?

Its not required on my Z4-S3. This is the only camera I run VMD on

Recommend you turn OFF AcuPick/VMD and use IVS only. AcuPick is not very useful for small or home installs IMHO
