added the sdzw2030s-n, this is a 135mm starlight varifocal bullet.. the price wont be cheap but if your looking for a LPR camera for distance this would be a great candidate.

says it has 50W consumption w/IR on, so must have massive IR.. or thats incorrect, hard to say but spec sheet dont indicate its PoE capable so that might just be true.

according to specs its ~16in long, gotta be a beast.. dont expect to fit it in a lil birdhouse heh.

Wow 50 watts is a lot.. Is that not a heating element for the housing or whatver ?
I read the install pdf and it seems the square plate with the round hole for the lens is the IR unit indeed.

Can't seem to find the sdzw2030s-n for sale on AliExpress. Wonder how much it is?

looks like it, damn thats a good price!

its a new chasis/housing design, a lil bit smaller and a lil bit slower..

Black Face Light:
Pan: 240° /s; Tilt: 200° /s
Φ160(mm) x 295(mm)
4kg(8.82lb)

Black Face PTZ:
Pan: 400° /s; Tilt: 300° /s
Φ186.0(mm) x 309(mm)
3.5kg(7.72lb)

other than that it's not much different than a black face PTZ that I can see.

No Microsd slot.that's probably how they were able to put it at $350.

Also seems to have a pfb305 mount included.
100 meter ir.
And not auto tracking for what it is worth.

The specs say its got a metal housing but the Mount and all of the camera look plastic to me in the images.. I suspect its plastic and that may account for its low price.

The mount that is in the link looks the same as the mount i have for my hikvision 5220 ptz.
That mount is not plastic but it is aluminium metal. And there is room for the connections intern :)

I don't like being spoon fed, But this is my first experience with Security cameras.
I've only had about 1 hour to play around with this camera after install.

I've been out of town since install

What are some of the basic settings I should be using ?

"Dahua Network Camera Web 3.0" is a little overwhelming for a Newbie of couse it's generic & I know PTZ and other parts don't apply.

I'm using Blue Iris also, BUT... My Thoughts are (and correct me if I'm wrong) I need to get the basics done first in the Dahua Software & then proceed to Blue Iris .

I've got it working in the short time Ive had to play but I know It's far from being refined. I'm slowly adding Cameras.

Should work pretty well out of the box once you get it setup on your network w/a fixed IP address..

Setting up Presets, Idle Preset, Startup Behavior perhaps..

looks like the US site got another Starlight Varifocal Bullet in the Super Category: DH-IPC-HFW82A1EN-Z(I)

this has 140dB SuperWDR, and .001 Lux better spec that may account for additional IR range.
Looking at the specs, it says IVS(Optional). Is this a different camera model, or firmware? Apologies, but I'm just starting into a surveillance system, and specs can be really confusing.

you should verify with your vendor that it includes IVS because its possible it may not.

The varifocal hdw5231r-z reviewed by @nayr is F1.4 but is it also F1.4 at 12mm ?

I believe so, not really noticing any impacts on low light capabilities regardless of the level of zoom.

IVS Optional appears to mean only one of the listed options can be activated at any one time.
