Cannot view main stream

Regarding camera model DS-2CD2335FWD-1 (2.8mm)

I have 7 cameras connected to an HIKvision nvr (ds-7600 series). I have a monitor coonected to the nvr and I can see main stream on all cameras except the above model. When I connect to the NVR via web interface, I can see main stream on it. But when I select main stream on the monitor connected to the NVR I get message, Unsupported Stream Type. Any ideas? Thanks.

That covers quite a variety of models, old and new, with varying capabilities.

Regarding camera model DS-2CD2335FWD-1 (2.8mm)

That can use h.265 as the codec.

I get message, Unsupported Stream Type. Any ideas?

One possibility is that the DS-2CD2335FWD is configured to use a codec that the NVR does not support on the VGA/HDMI interface.
Check the camera video configuration.

What in video configuration should I look for? And should I confine looking to the NVR? Thanks

In this page example from the same camera model - set the video encoding to h.264 if it's not already set, and drop the resolution and bitrate down to see if that makes a difference.
