I just got a Hikvision DS-2DE3A404IW-DE running firmware: V5.7.11 build 220905. And nowhere under motion detection, line crossing or intrusion detection I could find the option for human or vehicle detection. Is there a newer or previous firmware with the acusense features?

The spec doesn't mention those features - it's 'Value series' product.
Where did you see them mentioned?
My aliexpress supplier... I guess I might have been misled
I'm having a little bit of success using my NVR's built-in acusense but only if i set quality to 1080P. I have the DS-7616NXI-K2 with a 4TB WD Purple Drive but it seems that it doesn't like high quality video settings else the footage freezes when an event is being recorded.
