So the video looks normal on the NVR but you don't see the web admin page when you access in the browser?

A couple of things to try:
Use / install Hikvision's SADP tool to confirm the cameras are visible on your network and that they have the IP addresses that you expect.
http://www.hikvision.com/en/us/download_more.asp?id=1120

Use / install the very good Windows open-source tool 'ONVIF Device Manager' from sourceforge.net
This should find your cameras and provide lots of information about them.
Check out the web / HTTP port on the 'Network Settings' page. Maybe it's reverted to the default 80 if you'd set it to something different a while back.
And check out the 'Web page' so see if that looks normal.

What was the version of firmware you used - was it a ML (Multi-language) release?
Check out this thread on changing to English: http://www.ipcamtalk.com/showthread.php/3474-Hikvision-5-2-5-amp-5-2-8-Full-English-(INC-DAYS-OF-WEEK)-mtd-Hack
The method should work OK for your current 5.2.3 version.
And here is at least an English firmware that should get you back to English as a starting point: http://www.hikvisioneurope.com/portal/index.php?dir=Product Firmware/Cameras/DS-2CD2xx2/V5.2.3 build 141024/

ONVIF Device Manager will discover ONVIF devices on your network and give lots of useful info about them, for example if you had changed the HTTP port and forgot, it will show you the settings.
It's nothing to do with the Hikvision TFTP auto updater tool.

You probably need to go down this path:
