Started off idiotically and hastily buying from Frys Electronics with Swann garbage. No need to discuss. Trash
Then purchased analog from a local, still have a decent PTZ IR, fast dome @ 700TVL and 2 Sony fixed.
THEN, purchased the following... experimenting with stuff.

Presently using or own (NOT all in use) and definitely going to sell:
2x Sony ONVIF 5MP PTZ Cameras Brand: AST Model Number: ASRIH692-020-3052 (Sony IMX178)
3x Cantonk IPCC60H800 4K, H.265 Camera 12MP, 8MP 30 FPS
3x Cantonk IPCW60H800 4K, H.265 Camera 12MP, 8MP 30 FPS
1x Dahua Int'l NVR5432-4KS2 (although it MIGHT be a 16 but I think it's 32)
3x Hikvision DS-2CD2085FWD-I
1x Dahua-IPC-HDBW4431R-ZS
1x Theia Technologies ML410 4-10mm C-Mount F/1.4 4K Manual-Iris Varifocal Lens
1x UNV IPC6248SR-X22 4K Ultra-HD IR PTZ Network Dome Camera New Open, haven't used it.
1x Samsung SNF-8010M 5MP Outdoor Network Fisheye (installed this, doesn't work with Mac!!! :embarrassed: )
1x Samsung SNF-8010VM 5MP Outdoor Network Fisheye (had already ordered when I learned above info)
1x Samsung SNB-9000N Ultra HD 12 MP PoE Network Camera (has a total of MAYBE 2 hours use total)
2x C/CS lenses for above: 2.8-9mm wide-angle lens and a 12-40mm.

I literally want to get rid of EVERY SINGLE THING I currently have and... instead, get the following:

All Dahua...

2x Dahua HDBW8331E-Z - 3MP, H.265 with 1/2.8" sensor WDR (140dB)
2x Dahua HDBW8630E-Z - 6MP, H.265 with 1/1.8" sensor
2x Dahua HDBW81230E-Z - 12MP, H.265 with 1/1.8" sensor

2x Dahua EBW81230-Z - 12MP, 4K, H.265 with 1/1.7" sensor
3x Dahua HFW81230E-Z - 12MP, 4K, H.265 with 1/1.7" sensor

ASSUMING that:

HFW81230E-Z is IDENTICAL to NK8BB7Z ?
EBW81230-Z is IDENTICAL to EBW812A0N ?

POSSIBLE purchases:

1x Dahua SD6AL830V-HNI possibly.
1x Dahua NVR616-64-4KS2 (maybe R version, with redundant power supply)
2x Dahua NKB1000 Network Control Keyboard (if it will work remotely, especially)

Can I just speak to people like cor35vet for advice...? I'm happy to pay someone who's an expert and keeps me rolling... obviously, the savings of getting "International" (aka, -- the REAL price... that people who don't make more than 99% of the world can ACTUALLY afford -- have to pay... vs., how much Dahua, like all companies, realize they need to "overcharge" the west. I just don't want differences like:

Differences I worry about:
  • Electronics
  • Sensor
  • Housing
  • Lenses
  • Firmware that can't be updated
  • Different DSP (speed of compressing video)
  • Dahua intelligence: Face detection, People counting, heat map, etc
  • Dahua IVS: Tripwire, intrusion, object abandoned, missing, etc.
  • Same PoE or PoE+
  • H.265 and/or H.265+
  • Have 128GB SD Card Slot support
Do you know of differences I haven't listed that I should ALSO worry about? I KNOW that this is going to invite "warranty pains in the ass...." but I can't pay virtually double.

Does anyone have direct info on the exact units that I 'm going to be buying to speak of differences between the US vs. Int'l versions?

If you have strong suggestions for another brand, great. I'm just sick of not having all the features work, devices not work simultaneously, not recording, not being able to make H.265 work, not being able to sync audio (I'm allowed by state if I post notice) ... and I need to protect myself when people agree to terms. I'd also REALLY like to be able to use a Zoom H4N on command when I have a particular person I'm dealing with whom I know is a problem... and I want them to be accountable for how absurd they are. THIS device, I'd like to connect to a camera on command so that I have good quality for a$$holes whom I know in advance have absurd expectations.

If someone hates this adventure to Dahua, I'm open to talk. Please don't just rip in to me.

Thanks

I of course have other questions that are less generalized, but this is my game plan. My MAIN objective here, is to admit what an idiot I've been - and finally.... get something where I can rely on it, ESPECIALLY including the H.265, with minimal encoding lag on the camera, good face detection, GREAT image quality. The NVR upgrade will be to add RAID and also to sync it OFF SITE for a back up (I will be dedicating a modem to this to upload it). I want EXCELLENT quality video of my customer area, and to use this as my way to make people accountable for the high-speed agreements made through conversation -- as well as to straight shame jerks by posting what they really said on a website if they ever leave a nasty yelp review that LIES about what the person agreed to -- showing their yelp review, the date of the video in the video, and the person agreeing to the very terms on video/audio.... that they later pretend to be upset about.

If anyone has suggestions on what or where (aside from eBay) that I should use to sell the crap I have, I'm open to the advice.

The crap from Dahua, you can send it to me. I pay the shipment. If I get everything to work on each camera/nvr, you receive 500 dollar from me.

Is that a deal?

I don't have any of the camera models you are planning to buy, and I've never had a Dahua NVR to play with, so alas I can't say much about them. Only that Dahua is a good choice in general, and if you want great night/low light vision you should get 2MP starlights instead of those higher resolution cams.

You're offering $500 for one used dahua nvr and one used dahua 4mp camera, biscuit? Unless I missed something that is all the Dahua equipment he has right now.

Thank you! I appreciate your suggestion and want to run my logic by you... for you to audit for errors.

Yes, the high dB Dynamic Range cameras are optimal for simultaneous contrast of bright and dark features within a single frame; its fundamentally, "contrast"... There are of course:

2x IPC-HDBW8331E-Z

3MP sensors that encode in H.265 (with Dahua's alleged "superior" CODEC justifying the H.265+ proprietary reference to the "improved" algorithm, and, unlike the 2MP sensor cameras - this features not only the same high-contrast 140dB (logarithmic scale of contrast in this context) but also a 1/2.8" sensor WDR (140dB)...

These are starlight models... and all the other features for which I've filtered - and if you'd like, I'll post links to each item. :)

Standard zoom of bullet and dome:
IPC-HDBW8331E-Z - Dahua Technology
IPC-HFW8331E-Z - Dahua Technology

Higher zoom of bullet and dome:
IPC-HDBW8331E-Z5 | Dahua Technology - Dahua Technology
IPC-HFW8331E-Z5 | Dahua Technology - Dahua Technology

However, given that the sensor is the same size, the night vision ability of the 2MP will obviously be better if EVERYTHING else is the same; as the 1/2.8" sensor is effectively LARGER - if it's lower resolution... as there are fewer lines dissecting the sensor... and a bigger sensor, even for...such a nuanced reason, will require less gain for the same amount of photons to be represented.

I do understand this; my issue that motivates me to get a true WDR camera, is that there are times in which seeing my clients is going to occur while:

• They are backlit by sun rise in the earliest part of our hours.
• They are backlit by sunlight reflecting off buildings in the afternoon.

Thus, the principle feature IS, the capacity to have their face well identified, despite far from optimal conditions. I will mitigate this by trying to have the recording azimuth pass through the location at which clients will pass and stand... and have the top portion of the image azimuth hit below the window sill.

I will have a multitude of cameras cooperating to achieve this... AND, I thank you for your advice.

Those do seem like they would be fine for the job and I agree that WDR may be very important.

I've just gone on a tirade of posts... and separated them out (not out of narcissism, but just so that IN CASE... it's ever useful for someone else, the title defines the subject and may be of use to other noobs like myself who seek the advice of experts).

IF someone is a bonafide expert, who could answer my questions, perhaps I should offer a "bounty" for edifying me?

Do you have someone in mind whom I could pay for ideas, advice, auditing my game plan, helping me avoid stupid mistakes (this is attempt number FIVE for this moron)... I just can't afford to keep doing this like an idiot.

as oth

When you say not bad, if it were you, can you give examples of different manufactures? AND, are all these Dahua going to use ONVIF? Because this other company precisely said that the reason their H.265 didn't work was because it was ONVIF instead of having native support for the NVR I'm using (Dahua with Cantonk) which seems like official BS to me -- as other ONVIF items TO use H.265.

Anyway, you've hooked me up.
IF my purchase source include new Firmware..? I will share.

DOES SOMEONE KNOW OF BETTER EQUIPMENT or companies for THE BEST PRICES on the things I want?
• NK8BB7Z (USA Variant) vs. HFW81230E-Z (Int'l Variant)
• EBW812A0N (USA Variant) vs. EBW81230-Z (Int'l Variant)

Are the Electronics IDENTICAL Int. vs US versions?:
• DSP which records the input/record signal
• CPU which encodes (the codec) ... compression of say, H.265+ and the SPEED of encoding (lag to view real-time data)
• Facial recognition software (can this be network aggregated data?? recorded to the NVR or another system?)
• Sensor (The number of pixels, size of sensor, sensitivity, low light support, etc.)
• Firmware (The ability to add new releases!??)

Is the Bill of Materials identical:
• Housing construction
• Plastic/metal, mounting

Lens (can these be upgraded or replaced on bullets and domes?)
• Dahua intelligence / IVS: Face detection, People counting, heat map, tripwire, intrusion, object abandoned, etc.

Unchanged PoE and PoE+
• H.265 and H.265+ Efficacy
• Unchanged PoE and PoE+

128GB SD Card Slot support (Can it support larger?)

POSSIBLE purchases:
1x SD6AL830V-HNI
do you think this is the coolest PTZ? Better than my Unv?
2x NKB1000 Network Keyboards
(CAN it will work remotely, especially)
1x NVR616-64-4KS2 R version, redundant PSU

Is the NVR I'm looking at bad ass? Or would you look at others?

Are there differences that I've overlooked that matter?
