I just upgraded my BI computer to a 12th generation Intel i7 12700 from a 10th generation intel i7 10700 and now it appears I have a memory leak. I performed a clean installation of Windows 10 Pro with the media creation tool and I have the latest intel drivers installed (31.0.101.3790 10/17/2022).

Prior to my upgrade I was using Deepstack for AI but I decided to switch to CodeProject AI. I'm running CodeProject version 1.6.8. I'm also running BI version 5.6.2.10

When I first boot the computer, I'm using about 29% of my RAM. BI was using approximatively 3,165.1MB and CodeProject AI was using approximatively 866.4MB of RAM. After three days of uptime, BI is now using 4,142MB and CodeProject AI is now using 2,674MB of RAM and climbing. While the RAM usage for BI and increased, the RAM useage for CodeProject AI has increased dramatically. So I'm thinking CodeProject AI might have a memory leak. Is anyone running BI with CodeProject AI on a 12th gen intel?

My BI computer specs are as follows;
Asrock Z690 Steel Legend
Intel i7 12700
G.Skill 32GB DDR4
Samsung 500GB NVME
EVGA 650 Watt power supply

1x 6TB Western Digital Purple
1x 14TB Western Digital Purple PRO

The BI memory usage hasn't changed in the past twenty four hours but the memory usage for CodeProject AI has jumped to 4,158MB from 2,674MB since yesterday afternoon. Also, I forgot to mention I'm on Windows 10 Pro 22H2. @MikeLud1 any suggestions?

When you first start CodeProject AI there are no models loaded in memory, as BI sends requests using different model the memory will increase but once all the models BI requested are loaded the memory should level out.

Thank you, I'll keep an eye on it. Since my previous post it's already jumped from 4,158MB to to 4,674MB which seems excessive.

My system has been up for 21 days. CodeProject AI is now consuming 16,878 MB of RAM which seems extremely high. My total memory usage is at 84% (26.6GB out of 31.8GB). @MikeLud1 is there a maximum amount of RAM CPAI will use or an average amount your typical install will consume?

There is nothing inherently wrong with using a lot of ram. Database servers such as SQL will use as much memory as you allow them, it is very much application dependent. Memory leaks are usually very obvious as they usually grow at a constant rate. If this is a BI only machine i wouldnt worry about it. You have installed 32gb of ram so why wouldnt an app use it if it made the system faster?

I'm not concerned that it's using that amount of RAM, but that fact that it continues to increase RAM usage without leveling off. I installed the latest version of BI that includes a memory leak fix so we'll see if that changes anything.
