In the camera match the i-frame interval to the frame rate.
The night issue is likely related to the camera. Many cheaper cameras drop frame rates in low light..
This is set to 50 right now, so your saying to move it to 30, correct???
After updating to BI's new download 4.2.2.2, the tearing has stopped completely. The software has some resetting of sensitivity and I am presently tweaking these to my car traffic and shadows. The initial start of the software, the cameras were making rectangles like crazy, but I have calmed it down quite a bit.
As for the frame rate dropping at night time in non IR mode, Could it possibly be that the camera is designed to run IR at night and if it is not on, it somehow defaults down to 7 fps because it thinks there is a really low light level. IR light really floods an area and I imagine easily triggers the photo sensors in the cam, verses visual light that we see as helpful during night. I contacted BI tech about this and I can't remember what he said about this, I need to check emails. The minute I turn IR on, the FPS jump up to their specified settings and the bitrate remains the same in either setting.
Dropping fps occurs at night only in F6, non IR, 1280x720. The BI software does not have my specific screen setting of 1600x900.

I have restarted system, software, installed new software, etc...Perhaps I will try another software just for a test and see if it also causes a drop in FPS when set in this non IR mode. I have some testing I think to check what it is not.
I apologize if I have jacked the thread, perhaps I should of started my own if I go further about this. :shame:
In the example here, you can see I have plenty of available non IR light in the front and south side of home. The driveway has lower light and uses IR
