Hello, Im newbie in this forum, also newbie in IPCAM installation.
so i have 4-6 IP CAM that needs to be connect PoE switch because our main office is prolly 100-120 meters from our backyard.
i want to put PoE Switch in around 60 meters from the cameras, before connect to our main office.
my IP CAM hikvision DS 2cd1023g0e-i, NVR Hikvision DS7600 series

my question, what type of PoE switch should i buy ?
8 port PoE unmanaged or managed switch ? with 1 or 2 up link ports ?

does it needs to connect to our ISP Modem ?
or it can be directly to NVR PoE ports ?

thanks a lot

You will want a quality POE that has enough power budget to power the cameras.

Managed or unmanaged is up to you. Unmanaged will be simpler.

The POE switch will connect to the WAN/LAN of the NVR not one of the NVR POE ports.

If you want the system to be accessible outside of the buildings, then it will need to be hooked to your LAN with internet.

Do not plug the poe switch into the NVR....use the software in the NVR to connect the Camera's that are " ouside" the NVR. Use the "search for remote devices" setting if your NVR has one.

if poe switch doesnt have enough power to power up the camera ?
will it transfer data ? or poe switch totally will not working ?

also, the topology should be, NVR -> PoE switch -> ISP Router
for the half of cameras within 40 meters can directly to NVR ?

how about, rest of camera within 40 meters directly to NVR poe ports ?
will it work ?
Yes, as long as the NVR supports the total number of channels that you need.
No matter how the cams are connected, if the NVR is rated as an 8ch NVR, that is all the cameras it will handle.

thank god, so glad to hear that it will work.
i never installed any IP Cam before, im afraid if the other half of camera will not work if half of them connected to PoE Switch, other half directly to NVR.
i lived isolated place, so if i bought wrong thing, it will take 5-7 days to get another replacement from nearby town. lol
