Hey guys,

The NVR5xxx-4ks2 has some new update now. The firmware suits these models, please check very carefully before updating, if NVR buy from us, no problem to update it.
Attention: If your system has hacked cheap DAHUA models, please don't make any update. Any update will block the cams' working with the NVR.
The firmware still have some bugs waiting to be fixed up after we tested.

Installed on NVR5432-4KS2 with no issues. I have not had a chance to look for new features. Andy do you have a list of what was changed?

Brief test, not able to get camera's sub-streams from NVR, IPC's aren't hooked up directly to the NVR, are around, but in the same network/VLAN. Same issue as previous firmwares, reverting back to V4.000.0000000.1.R.20190809 solves.

Do you have a list of the outstanding bugs - wondering if its worth giving it a shot upgrading again or if i should just wait until the smooth out more bug fixes. Previous attempt at going to v4.0 I found Android push notifications completely stopped.

POS stopped working on V4.000000001 when I tested it last. Will let you all know if fixed.

Will this firmware interfere or stop English language Chinese Dahua cameras from working? I have a few 'do not upgrade' Dahua cameras and I was wondering if I flashed my NVR5232-4KS2 if those cameras would still work.

I think they will still work (I have two left - the rest I have upgraded with much better models from Andy!). But the notifications appear to be still buggy, however Andy has advised Dahua are working to get this fixed.

Going forward, only buy from Andy's shop  That way you can upgrade with confidence. You won't be able to use the "do not upgrade" cameras if you upgrade firmware; you'll need to resort to Blue Iris. Andy has new budget cameras in stock which are international models / genuine and close to the price-point of the region-specific cameras. I'm not getting paid to say this ;) @EMPIRETECANDY

Yeah my push notifications send three notifications every cross line trigger occurrence. Annoying.

This firmware is very buggy. The iDMSS Plus IOS stopped showing 1/2 of my cameras. I tried loading each camera individually and rebooting the NVR. Nothing worked. The NVR is showing that the camera is working fine thru the HDMI output. So no problem there. It's just the IDMSS Plus IOS app has problem pulling all my 13-channels worth of cameras. Yes, I am on Wifi at home.

I then went back to the 0809 NVR firmware in August. Problem solved...

@MakeItRain I haven't been able to get any sub-stream, with this firmware (gDMSS, SmartPSS, and not even with I.E. or I.E. tab), only the main stream. I too reverted to 2019-08-09 version.

model : NVR5864-4KS2
I have a problem updating, it will slow down the device after the update.

What are your options:
  • factory reset the device: did this solve the issue?
  • factory reset the device and re-apply the firmware file: did this solve the issue?
  • factory reset the device and reload the previous firmware file: did this solve the issue?
  • repeat the previous 3 steps with all cams disconnected: did this solve the issue?

Not that many options, but enough options to get you out of this :-)

Good luck!
