Considering he is from California, he better have an attorney on speed dial. Chasing after the criminals once the threat is over isn't the smartest move.

Also shooting when he has no idea what/who is behind the criminal? Dumb. He's VERY lucky he didn't hit an innocent by-stander.

For a homeowner shooting at a criminal, you bet your ass they will show up.
My guess is that he will spend a better part of his life in prison and the criminals will own his house.
