2025 New Arrivals From EmpireTech

Interesting products in the line from Dahua. Although I suspect many of these are never going to be available outside of China.
Interesting that some of these cameras are 4MP 1/1.8" or even 1/1.2" cmos.

I would love to see this thermal Hubble camera available though... that looks like a beast.

Andy, my standard question, will these cameras be able to detect animals?

Will check it, but some people said animal detect effect the accuracy of the Camera, so original version i don't think it support animal detection, will see when i get the samples.

Hey guys

2025 New dual light 5 series, next week we will get the first samples for bullet cameras firstly. Motorized lens still need some time. Will show here when i get it.
Also these cams motorized lens samples will be ready next week

Andy,
if you will test - big question how does compare new WizColor 5xx9-PRO with WizColor TIOC-PRO 3xx9-PRO???

And for both varifocal - what is real zoom range?
I have Full Color 5449-ZE (F1.0 varifocal optics) from EU distribution and optical zoom range is limited in comparison to 5442-ZE - something like 2x max...

Also does the varifocal optics with big aperture (F1.0 or F1.2) stay sharp at full zoom range and have nice depth of field?
I had big problems with that in Full Color 5449-ZE..

Never liked image from that camera (but I simply hate image from any Full Color cams) - next to it I have TIOC-PRO which gives nicer and sharper image at all conditions...

@EMPIRETECANDY So just to check; there is no new 180/dual lens IR camera coming?
(Like the Color4K-T180 but with IR or dual light instead of visible LED only or like a 180/dual lens version of the Color4M-T?)

It is a shame animal detection is so little of importance; I mean the checkbox is even there in the IVS settings (to check or uncheck).
Watching for animals is quite important here; to check for marters etc.

for now this feature is in new cams from 5xxx line up.. They have bigger CPU/SOC processor and can do more AI processing..

somewhere in 2-3 years it will be probably also on new 3xxx cams...
typical product & features fragmentation..

Yes, that's why I was so happy when Andy came with the new firmware for the S3 camera's.

But I'm also considering building an Unraid NAS/server (replacing an old Qnap NAS) and think about running Frigate. Less dependance on detection capabilities of Dahua camera's.

Actually there has another way to make animal detection working, just turn off the target filter.
Are you saying that the new cameras will actually turn off the target filter, unlike the 5442s, 5842s, T180s etc. that won't turn it off?

All cams not support animal detection can do this way, but some cams not such button. Use nvr can do it. You can see most autotracking ptz video we do can track animals that is why we can do it.

Andy, the cameras I mentioned as well as others will not turn off the target filter. The user interface has a switch to turn it off, it gets turned off in the camera's config file, but the object filters do not get turned off. Animals can walk through the field of view all day long and never trigger IVS. The fixed focal S2 5442s will trigger on animals only with very old firmware, and I replaced the varifocal 5442s because there's no firmware for them that will turn off the target filters to trigger on animals. This is why I'm asking about how it works with the new PRO cameras. If they have animal detection like the S3 cameras do, I'll try one. If not, I'll wait for somebody else to try it first :). I'm being impatient I realize.

Best animal detection camera I have is a 3.6mm 4K-X with this FW and its consistent

(No it's not supposed to, but it does an incredible job of picking up critters)
The Intrusion zone is set to Humans and Vehicles, it seems to be more sensitive than the zig zag tripwire in this case

As others are saying; unfortunately not working; just one of the many "quirks" of the Dahua ecosystem.
If it would work there wouldn't be a problem; but the fact this toggle is present but not working if very annoying.
Dahua shouldn't put it there if it's not working as it should.
This results in any form of IVS only triggering on people and cars.

So with these (newer) camera's we have a choice; use simple motion detection (which result is way to many false triggers) or use IVS (which will only trigger on cars and people; nothing else).
Or a 3rd option; use something like Blue Iris or Frigate and use the camera's for video feed only.

Your custom firmware made the animal detection work (for which I'm highly thankful :thumb: ); but that firmware is only limited to a few camera's unfortunately.

Hmmm, your 4k-x firmware is 3 years newer than mine. I'd like to try it, but your version 2.840.0000000.28R is newer than what's on Andy's web site 2.840.0000000.26. Do you remember where you got it from?
