Is there a comparision between EmpireTech IPC-T54IR-ZE-S3 and the original camera. I searched and didn't see a review.

Thanks

Not yet, but here is one to the brother Z4E (simply more optical zoom than the ZE). You can expect the improvements to be comparable.

Is there anything upcoming as successor to the 5442 Series? It was first released in 2019, was the sensor improved since then or only the intelligence?

As pointed out in post #21 above, they have improved the model with a new chipset and GUI that basically makes it a different camera. The optics are greatly improved.

Unfortunately one needs an NVR with that capability to use it. The promo video looks pretty cool for it though.

In theory you should be able to pull up a person or a vehicle and it will pull up snapshots of every time that person or vehicle was spotted on the camera.

i can imagine that it will work somehow in color mode. But in B/W its even hard for a human to distinguish between two persons with similiar body/clothes.
