I saw a magic bus appear and there was't even a sonic boom involved. The magic bus shimmers in and out of existence and then a haint flitters about.

In my imagination, I was actually thinking about a Sci-Fi movie called Oblivion with Tom Cruise. An off-world AI entity called 'Sally' annihilated Earth. Did she secretly update the firmware in our security and other computing systems? . . .so we wouldn't see her 12-mile fly bys? ho...

Although I lost my sense of smell in my last sinus surgery, I checked for that and there was clearly no smokescreen involved.

Yes, but this video was pulled off a data card. I went to H.264 for that to make my data backup data card videos usable. I posted this only for its entertainment value after a facebook upload converted the video for me.

It looks like it could be coming out of a worm-hole portal in an out-of-phase state, but it is really an example of H.265++ video compression corruption and then playing the resulting video back without a suitable H.265++ decoder in the player.

Looks Like Internet Explorer Died Today

My knowledge of javascript is more than a little bit stale, but I'm thinking that javascript doesn't really have anything to do with java which was often installed back in the day. Web browsers used to have javascript interpreters built into them, so java and javascript are two separate things...

2 HDW5831R-ZE unauthenticated in VMS this AM after time change

Thank you. With that information I was able to mitigate the problem by touching the times in the camera settings. I turned off DST, turned it back on and then switched back and forth between 12hr and 24hr modes a couple of times. That got my cameras back in my VMS for now. I'm now guessing...

2 HDW5831R-ZE unauthenticated in VMS this AM after time change

Running firmware V2.800.0000026.0.R, Build Date: 2022-08-22 Did anyone else see anything similar? Rebooting the cameras and restarting the VMS service did not help. The NXwitness VMS can no longer authenticate to (only) these 2 cameras. Logging into the cameras via Chrome works fine. All...

Program for flipping cameras to day/night on Linux

Using wget version 1.20.3 running on Linux solved the authentication problem I described. This was tested and verified on my 5831s, 5442s as well as my new production IPC-Color4K-T all running the most current Dahua branded firmware. ---end--- aside: As much as I would prefer to use Andy's...

Program for flipping cameras to day/night on Linux

I suspect this is going to be a digest authentication standard version issue where my older Windows version of wget may not understand whatever digest standard my newer Dahua branded firmware is using. I'll try a newer version of wget from one of my Linux boxes.

    Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-HDW5849H-ASE-LED / IPC-Color4K-T - 2.8mm Turret

Thank you. I am also running that firmware. Although I had been running DahuaSunriseSunset ver 1.4, I installed 1.9.0 and was unable to get it to work with my new IPC-Color4K-T. The url calls that work in a web browser are clearly different, APIs, but that is a separate problem. I'm sure I...

    Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-HDW5849H-ASE-LED / IPC-Color4K-T - 2.8mm Turret

Thank you. I am using the API per the post you mentioned. My wget command isn't authenticating to the camera as expected. I posted details in the thread I linked to above. I thought people following this thread might be interested, because it pertained to this camera. Program for flipping...

    Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-HDW5849H-ASE-LED / IPC-Color4K-T - 2.8mm Turret

Has anyone tried using the wget and sunwait utilities to switch modes on this camera? I'm trying that now, but I'm having trouble getting wget commands to authenticate to the camera. That is documantied in this thread: Program for flipping cameras to day/night on Linux

I'm trying to set day/night modes on my new Empire Tech IPC-Color4K-T/Dahua DH-IPC-HDW5849HP-ASE-LED running Dahua branded firmware. I'm getting stuck with wget authentication issues. Has anyone gotten wget to authenticate to this camera? Here are the details and debug info: C:\Program Files...

IPC-T5442T-ZE Cloaking Device video artifacts H.264 general codec --What could cause this?

It happened one more time about a week later, but not since. I guess I will have to write this off as an "X-file" that is rare enough to live with.

IPC-T5442T-ZE Cloaking Device video artifacts H.264 general codec --What could cause this?

I just broke my one-change-at-a-time rule and went ahead and cut back to only 2 IVS tripwires. Depending upon exactly where I parked, sometimes tripwires didn't get tripped and I was trying to make sure at least one of them generated an event to record all cameras at once in high resolution...

IPC-T5442T-ZE Cloaking Device video artifacts H.264 general codec --What could cause this?

By the way, I don't think there is anything wrong with the camera. At worst, I think I may be overloading it somehow or otherwise just not optimally configured.

IPC-T5442T-ZE Cloaking Device video artifacts H.264 general codec --What could cause this?

Yes. The post directly above describes my problem as a "Digital Glitch." Calling it a "Cloaking Device" issue was just my sense of humor. "This kind of problem often appears as colorful blocks or dropped frames in the video. The reason for that might be an overused memory card, an error on a...

IPC-T5442T-ZE Cloaking Device video artifacts H.264 general codec --What could cause this?

All that recording to the sd card is a lot of CPU intensive work for the camera and it wears out sd cards. The jpeg snapshots to sd storage are constant 24/7. I was hopeful that would be easier on the cameras than constant video. That's in case they steal my VMS too. The only time I have...

IPC-T5442T-ZE Cloaking Device video artifacts H.264 general codec --What could cause this?

The VMS is running about 12% CPU load as we speak. I rarely reboot it, but I restart the VMS service via a weekly cron job. It's headless Linux box, but I remote into it via an SSH command line interface, so I can reboot it easily. Everything is wired gigabit, but most of the 9 cameras are on...

IPC-T5442T-ZE Cloaking Device video artifacts H.264 general codec --What could cause this?

I've tried all that in various permutations that would be difficult for me duplicate. I didn't take notes. This has been especially difficult to troubleshoot because it is somewhat rare, I've suspected camera CPU load issues perhaps interfering with encoding the IP streams. These artifacts...

IPC-T5442T-ZE Cloaking Device video artifacts H.264 general codec --What could cause this?

Cloaking Device video artifacts H.264 general codec. Note there is only one person in the image and I've always known her to be fully opaque. I have to use the Dahua firmware to get the Dahua plug-in to work with my cameras in my NX Witness based "WaveVMS" Device Type IPC-T5442T-ZE System...

usability of SD data exports IPC-HDW5831R-ZE

I discovered that turning off the "Smart Codec" feature in the camera video settings made the SD recordings usable. Now the mp4's exported from the web interface work. I don't know, but I'm guessing that since that feature lowered the network bandwidth of the stream, then it must have been...

usability of SD data exports IPC-HDW5831R-ZE

Thank you for trying but no joy. At best I get a converted video that is about the same [unusable] as playing the original downloaded .dav file in Smart Player. I'm guessing that if Smart Player can't play the original .dav file, then converting it to another format probably won't help. At...
