Hi Guys,
Looking for some advice from you experts on this forum.
I currently have a DS-7108N-SN/P which is and has been working fine so far for about 2 years, my old model for some reason the PoE ports failed to provide power to the cameras attached so I replaced it. It is running the...
Sorry to be dumb, but how would I go about checking the PoE ports status, would this be within the configuration section of the Menu? All I can see is an option to enable PPPOE which I've tried to enable and disable with no success. Not sure if I'm looking in the right area? Thanks
Dear Experts,
I've been using my DS-7108N (Firmware: v3.0.10 build 141201) for just over 13months with 6 Hikvision cameras (domes and bullets) with no issues whats so ever then only during the past couple of days I've noticed that the cameras stopped working!! There was no display on live view...
Hi Alastair,
Here's a quick update..
I checked on the NVR that port forwarding was enabled or disabled by typing cat /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward after a telnet connection and it was disabled. I then enabled it and ensured that the camera's default gateway was 192.168.254.1, so far so good...
Hi Alastair,
Thanks for your feedback and I've had a quick read (all of it) and it looks very promising, so will try the suggestions first thing in the morning and let you know how I get on.
Thanks again.
Hi,
I have a DS-7108-SN/P NVR which has an internal IP address 172.16.0.100 and 192.168.254.x (for the PoE Cameras), with a router IP address of 172.16.0.1. I have a camera (DS-2CD2032-I) connected to one of the PoE ports on the back of the NVR and has an IP address of 192.168.254.2. The NVR...
Hi All,
I have a DS-7108N-SN/P (Chinese) with 3.0.10 Build 141201 (with English) and 4 Hikvision cameras, all working fine. I'm trying to setup alerts via iVMS-4520 (v4.0.0 Build 20150513) and enabling Notify Surveillance Center on the NVR, everything appears to be working fine except that...
Hi Petersburg,
This is the firmware you need,
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ok8nyh7g3hqcfq6/AAAvI8rCmQChFcLnmFU7UrBia?dl=0
for the DS-7108N-SN/P (NVR) which will provide you with English GUI. You need to download Hkvision TFTP software and setup your PC/Laptop(windows) with an IP address of...
Hi Petersburg,
Yes the NVR is the chinese version, but I managed to solve the problem by getting the originally firmware from the supplier (when it was in English but older firmware), so everything is now working fine. I'm waiting for a newer English version (higher than 3.0.10 Build 141201)...
Hi Alastair, thanks for the advice. I contacted the seller and managed to get the original firmware, so I'm back up and running. I need to learn how to modify the chinese firmware to English so that I can upgrade, I'll look into @wizhick Hiktools as you suggested. Thanks again.
To all you experts,
I recently upgraded my Hikvision DS-7108N-SN/P Chinese NVR which was working fine (with firmware v3.0.10 Build 141128 - English) to v3.0.14 Build 150518, but now ALL cameras are reporting a Language version mismatch and are offline. They are also chinese imports but...
Hi,
I've just downloaded and updated the firmware to v3.0.16 Build 150617 on my chinese DS-7108N-SN/P (using this link, http://www1.hikvision.com/cn/download_more_699.html#prettyPhoto and some help from google translate) which appears to work fine (in English) but I can't seem to login to the...
Just couple of thing if you don't mind...:D, I may have spoken to soon...
I changed the NVR Server port from 8000 and the IP address of the NVR from DHCP, which required a reboot and after which, I lost the default gateway settings and the /etc/resolv.conf file, so obviously something is wrong...
I thought I'd take the plunge and restore the settings on the NVR back to default settings, I mean what's the worse that could happen.
When it did finally return DHCP worked, which previously I couldn't tick. DNS Settings were filled in with the google DNS Servers and the default route was in...
Yes, definitely weird!
Yes, the NVR LAN port is 172.16.0.5 and the PoE IP range is 172.16.1.x and the router is 172.16.0.1.
I've added the default gateway as you suggested via telnet and it has appeared in the routing table and I can now ping an external IP address, yippee. I got so...
Yep, I definitely have the default gateway set to the router, I've attached the output of the telnet session and also the network config image.
What do you think is wrong?
Nope, I tried pinging the bbc.co.uk IP address 212.58.244.69 which failed with Network unreachable, although I can ping the router and other devices on the LAN without a problem. I also noticed that I wasn't able to select enable DHCP on the NVR, just to see if that would work, but when I click...
Hi Alastair, thanks for your comment.
I think you've hit the nail on the head. I did exactly what you suggested and realised that I couldn't access an external address (www.bbc.co.uk) from the NVR, which is a problem. So I checked the DNS Settings on the NVR and it was blank but I couldn't add...
Hi fenderman, I've disabled UPnP and Port Mapping but I'm still unable to access the NVR Server Port remotely, I've been on the phone to VirginMedia and they say that it should work if I've configured the SuperHub to forward Port 8000 to the internal address, which I have, also the port checker...
Thanks alastairstevenson, I just tried the link you sent me, so thanks for that. This is the result, is appears that the port maybe blocked, but its definitely set to forward on my router. I also tested forwarding port 8081 to a small webcam I have and I can access it from the WAN, which is why...
Hi to All you experts on this forum,
I've solved a bricked Hikvision camera on this forum and I think its great, so keep up the good work. I've almost got my CCTV System up and running ecept for the fact that I can't access it remotely, so need some help please.
I have a Hikvision...
Thanks alastairstevenson for the speedy response, I've just checked and it does have 'Hikvsion TFTP Server' in the Windows title bar. l'll try and perform another TFTP transfer to the camera and I'll let you know the outcome, after I've tried some different RJ45 cables.
