Thanks all. Removed camera, and I can see a little discoloration on the Cat5 on two of the pins which looks like an arc... most likely internal short. Everything else very clean (this camera is on a patio, but under a patio ceiling- very well protected. No direct exposure to rain, etc. CAT5...

As a follow up, can anyone recommend an adequate similar replacement? Or even an upgrade recommendation? This is for the front of the house (driveway coverage)

Camera is no longer feeding Blue Iris... physically the IR lights are no longer on. The corresponding POE port on switch is not lit... and doesn't light when I plug a working device into it. And plugging the dead camera into any other ports doesn't change anything. So is seems like the camera...

Are these replacement covers available someplace?

Hopefully someone will come out with a suitable replacement cam. (for the record, I've been 100% satisfied with this since purchase in 2020-NOV. Would've bought another if they were still sold)

Thanks Fenderman!!! That did the trick. I rolled the video driver way back to version 21.20.16.4664. All seems to be working again- no trailing predator effect.

I’m pretty sure this is a problem with Blue Iris hardware acceleration. Been running for a few days with no hw acceleration and no issues. Will turn it back on and let it run. Perhaps something broke during OS update.

Good idea- can PSS and Blue Iris run on the same server simultaneously without conflict?

No issues showing up with pingtracer. Turning off hardware acceleration in Blue Iris to see if this makes a difference.

Haven't tried the video driver, but rebooted yesterday morning. Ran for about 30 hours without any trails. I got one about 1/2 hour ago. But nothing since... So intermittent.

Thats just it- 90% of the time video is flawless. Camera settings havent been changed since initial confuguration.

Only occurs every once in awhile. Using cat5e solid- i make my own. Rebooting cameras didnt help this time. I have been noticing some networking issues lately on other devices. Will keep investigating.

Every once in a while, my alert clips show motion as blurred, i.e. if someone walks by a camera they are sharp, then there is a trail of blur. When this happens, a restart of Blue Iris seems to fix things. Any suggestions on what could be causing this?
