    Wider angle alternative to IPC-HDBW4231F-AS

I have a few of the IPC-HDBW4231F-AS used outdoor under soffits and the low profile nature of these work extremely well for me. I have one issue in that I have one centrally located above the garage door at approximately 10' of height. Unfortunately, this is the only place on the front of this...

DHI-NVR4208-8P-4KS2 PTZ via WebUI not working.

I just recently acquired an DHI-NVR4208-8P-4KS2 along with a few 2pm varifocal starlight cameras of different shapes. When I was directly controlling the NVR via mouse I could zoom using the on-screen controls. Unfortunately, now that I'm accessing the NVR via WebUI, the various zoom/ptz...

    Making my own PoE switch

That's the reason for the 48V. The standard POE (802.3af) can supply 12V at 12W at the destination from 48V due to line loss and conversation. POE+ (802.3at) can provide 25W at 12V. I would use a POE switch and one of these (PoE Splitter - TP-Link) at the destination to get the voltage that you...

    Camera and NVR suggestions

Hi, I cannot seem to find a the difference between these two models except that the E-AS has 3 LED whereas the E-Z has 2. Are there are other differences? Could you please send me a PM with pricing of 2 units + availability? Thank you!

    Camera and NVR suggestions

Without having one in my hand, I assumed that I could not turn the camera 90 degrees to the mounting pivot. Am I wrong in thinking this? I would need the arm perpendicular to the wall but the camera parallel to the wall. ______ (wall) | (arm) --> (camera) Ascii art to the...

    Camera and NVR suggestions

Hi Looney, the accessories for that camera only shows a junction box: PFA121. I would need something like the PFB121W wall mount bracket but it does not appear to be compatible with this line. Is there another camera that I should choose or is there a way to make this design work?

    Camera and NVR suggestions

Hi guys, 1/ I have need of a couple of dome version of the venerable varifocal turret that everyone's discussing but cannot find anything from Empire. Does a model such as this exist? This is for a business to be installed in drop ceiling and the turret is just way too bulky for this purpose...

how can I prevent motion trigger of a small pets?

Change the "Min. object size" in Trigger -> Motion Sensor | Configure to something that is larger than your micro-dog :) You could also use zones to highlight things such as windows or doors and create the zone a number of inches off the floor. On a 7' tall door, you don't typically need to...

    DH-IPC-K35A Indoor camera?

I went with the 3.6 as that's all Andy sold. I'd like to find one 2.8 for the entry in the future but, for now, the 3.6 works well. I have little-to-no crime in my area but do have a neighbor that thinks anything that is mine is also his to use. I also have packages that are dropped on my front...

    DH-IPC-K35A Indoor camera?

@nayr, that's why I stated an example such as "front entryway". If it's beneath a soffit in a covered entryway it's well protected from UV and likely close enough to easily identify people. I actually purchased one of these for this use case based on your recommendation in another post. I'm...

    DH-IPC-K35A Indoor camera?

Some places have a legal stipulation that both parties (the recorder and the recorded) both consent to being recorded. Other places are single party (recorder) only. In one's own home I doubt that there are any legal ramifications. In one's business that's a whole different matter.

    DH-IPC-K35A Indoor camera?

I have to say, I just ordered two of the IPC-HDBW4231F-AS and I'm really impressed by their compact size, video quality, and nighttime performance. I've only had them for 2 days but regret purchasing the rest of the cameras that I did in past. This, for me, is the perfect camera for inside and...

    Replacement for BlueIris

The issue with the Intel G3420 aside from the low CPU power is the diminutive GPU built in. While it does support quicksync, I suspect you'll find BI will consume a lot of CPU on that box. The E3 didn't support hardware offload (quicksync) but had the CPU power necessary to do it in software...

New server does not have quicksync, keep it or resell?

The E3 has a 69W TDW which places it in line with many of the i5 and i7 processors in that chipset. It's also 4 cores, 8 threads so also a little more powerful assuming blue iris is multi threaded. While quicksync is definitely nice to have, the E3 should have more than enough processing power...

Wanted to Buy - IPC-HDBW4231F-AS - (Mini Wedge)

They're $129 regularly but Andy ups the price on the listing when there is no available stock. I ordered one about 2 weeks ago while they were still listed as "in stock" but Dahua is on back order for several models, including this one, due a security/backdoor issue.

    Where to buy Dahua?

Well that's confusing The cameras that I want are listed on BEC as in stock but, upon ordering, are actually out of stock. That's a little misleading but, if Andy's the man, I'll keep my orders open.

    Where to buy Dahua?

Thanks for the replies. Perhaps someone can help clarify something for me? Several of the recommended cameras on this forum have links to Ali for a shop called BEC Electronics. The person that runs this store calls himself Andy. Empire replied above and he, apparently, is also Andy? Which of...

    Where to buy Dahua?

Hi, long time lurker here. I'm looking to replace some cameras and am looking at the IPC-HDW5231R-Z and the IPC-HDBW4231F-AS which I had attempted to order from Andy (BEC Electronics) upon recommendations that I've seen here. Unfortunately, the first camera was supported to be back in stock a...
