    Blue iris evaluation version

I also added a yearly support plan in February. And my BI server switched to Evaluation mode last night. I just needed to re-enter that code I got in February, and BI was out of Evaluation mode.

Whew!! I was able to enter the Blue Iris Extended Maintenance and Support code I got back in February. Which took it out of Evaluation mode.

I'm hoping I don't get hit by this. Right now, my seventeen cameras are still working fine with my BI machine. So I will not remotely access the PC unless it stops working or comes up in evaluation mode.

Blue Iris Extended Support Auto Renewal

Today I paid for the renewal and upgrade to BI5 and then cancelled the subscription. I assume I should be good for next year with updates? I just won't be charged in a year?

    CPU going to 100% overnight

IS there an issue with the Hikvision cameras? I've been running thirteen of them for years now. And so far I haven't noticed any problems. Instead of using a VLAN I have my cameras and BI machines physically separated on my network. So the only time it should go outside that section is to...

Blue Iris 4 to 5 Migration Guide

I never got around to upgrading my systems to BI5. So I'm wondering what the upgrade price is now? I guess i will need to test it with my backup BI machine first. And then get a second license to upgrade my primary BI machine. EDIT: I'm guessing the prices are still valid on the first post.

    Is H.265 realistically possible?

An i5, 8th gen or newer will work fine with this. Since it has six cores. I know my low end, 8th gen i5 has no issue with fifteen cameras at 15FPS. Ten 1500P 3MP, three 1500P 4MP, and two 720P 2MP. Heck even my old 3rd gen i5 works with this. My backup BI machine. But the CPU usage is very high...

New build for 4K cameras. i9-9900K?

Things are much faster when reading and writing the video from an SSD or NVMe drive. The videos populate almost instantly. While things are noticeable slower if I did that from a platter drive. Plus SSDs are so cheap now.

New build for 4K cameras. i9-9900K?

I've been using a 1TB Samsung EVO with BI for around five years now. I've had between twelve and fifteen cameras in use during that time. With most 1500P. I've only had around 100TB of data read and around 100TB of data written during that time. And the drive still has 80% of it's life left...

Blue Iris 4 to 5 Migration Guide

Wow!! Thanks for all the info in this thread. I think I will wait awhile before paying for the upgrade to BI5, for my two BI machines.

Anyone running 8th gen Intel without memory leak problems in Blue Iris?

My core i5 3rd gen can handle 15 cameras with most at 1500p. But there are plenty of times the CPU gets pegged at 100%. Both the 8th gen core i3 and the third gen Core i5 uses four CPU cores. I switched to an 8th gen core i5 last year which has six cores. Now my CPU usage is down to around 30%...

C Drive Failure - Starting Over

That's why it's a good idea to backup things periodically. I use MS One Drive since it gives me 1TB of space. So I store important files, pictures, videos etc. there in case I have any issues with any of my PCs. Plus I'm able to access the content from any of my PCs, tablets, phone etc..

Correct firmware upgrade for my cameras

Yes. I started using Hikvision cameras around four years ago. I've never updated the firmware and I've also never had any issues with them.

    Unable to update?

Did something change? Because I was able to update both of my Blue Iris PCs using the update button in the BI settings. Or is that only because I had not updated them in awhile? Sent from my Nexus 7(16GB) using Tapatalk

    BI optimization help - i7-6770HQ, 6 cams, 15MP, 150MP/s

I use direct to disc with triggers. It still makes a difference in the two setups I have with BI. My current one with an 8th gen core i5. And my backup, which was my previous setup, with a 3rd gen core i5. Sent from my Galaxy S8 using Tapatalk

    Unable to update?

I guess I'll need to do this for now. And also do it with my backup BI machine. Then when version 5 comes out, I'll purchase the extended service plan for both my primary and secondary BI license. So I can upgrade to the new version.

    BI optimization help - i7-6770HQ, 6 cams, 15MP, 150MP/s

Are you using Direct to Disc recording? I'm running three 4MP Hikvisions(1500P), nine 3MP Hikvisions(1500P), and three 720P HooToo Cameras. All use 15fps. And Direct to Disc recording. The bitrate to the PC from all the cameras is typically around 60 to 70Mb/s. And on a core i5 8400 Intel, My...

Anyone running 8th gen Intel without memory leak problems in Blue Iris?

Seems odd that I don't have these issues from my lower 8th gen core i5 8400 with a base clock rate of only 2.8Ghz. Or is it also because I am using an NVMe drive and a couple of SSDs for most of my BI storage? 1.6TB of stroage from those and then a 2TB platter drive for long term storage. With...

Anyone running 8th gen Intel without memory leak problems in Blue Iris?

I checked and I do have the framerate set low from the actual BI program. So based on what you said then that must be the reason. Sent from my Tab S 10.5 using Tapatalk

Anyone running 8th gen Intel without memory leak problems in Blue Iris?

I just tried it from my cell phone. After opening the BI program on my PC using Team Viewer, my CPU usage went up four percent to 27% while showing my fourteen cameras in the BI program. Normally I am running BI as service. Sent from my Galaxy S8 using Tapatalk

Anyone running 8th gen Intel without memory leak problems in Blue Iris?

Using team viewer should not increase the CPU usage much. At least I know it doesnt with my BI machine. It only adds a few percent to the CPU usage in my setup. Sent from my Galaxy S8 using Tapatalk

Anyone running 8th gen Intel without memory leak problems in Blue Iris?

I'm running a core i5 8400 with fourteen cameras. Three 4mp, nine 3mp, and two 2mp. Also running at 15fps. My i5 8400 only has around a 20 to 35% cpu usage according to the BI app.. And also around 2.87 GB of memory use. The i5 8600k is more powerful than my cpu. I would think you would have...

    h264 chrome streaming in BI3

I'm having no issues in Chrome. I set the UI3 for the 2160P resolution option so all the cameras can stream in their native resolution. I use twelve 1500P cameras and two 720P cameras.

    curious about your BI setups

I've always run mine headless. It just sits on a wire shelf out of the way. I use either Team Viewer or Google Remote Desktop to access them remotely. Plus both of those programs are free. So I can view the BI machine from another PC, tablet, or cell phone if I need to. And with a PC it's looks...

Will this desktop suffice for Blue Iris (BI)

You can also use Macrium Reflect free. It's great for cloning and is free. I used it recently to clone my three new dell systems with 8th Gen core i5 CPUs. One is being used for my new BI machine. And this past weekend I used it clone my five old PCs. So I could put smaller SSDs or platter...

Recommend Server off Ebay to run Blue Iris and Plex media server in seperate VM's?

I just configured my core i5 8400 with Blue Iris. Wow!! this is much, much better than my gen 3 core i5. The CPU usage percentage is around half of the old one. And it's using around 15 watts less right now. 40 watts vs. 55 watts. I
