Dahua 2MP 25x Starlight IR PTZ Network Camera (SD49225T-HN)

I'm so jealous, I've only got 2 cams on the front of my house!

Camect - New “do all” box

I have 13 cams at 1080p and 1 cam at 4K. Most are Dahua. The 4K is pointing at a residential street so there will be a few cars. A couple of cams are aimed at a greenbelt so they get a few deer and assorted critters. The other cams don't have much movement at all usually. The biggest problem I...

Camect - New “do all” box

If that will handle multiple cameras that'll be great! I'm looking forward to a comparison between Camect and BlueIris. If your product is better I'd have no problem with $60/year to cut down on the false alarms.

Thanks spectator. Are you using something like YOLO for you AI? That algorithm seems pretty popular lately.

Sounds interesting. Are you using a GPU to do the AI analytics processing?

    Blue Iris UI3

bp2008, When a group of 10 cameras is being shown, are there 10 separate streams being sent to UI3? Or is the entire group being encoded by BlueIris as a single video stream? I set up a group of 11 cameras at 4K resolution on my 4K tv using a Firestick and it looks fantastic! But my poor...

Dahua 2MP 25x Starlight IR PTZ Network Camera (SD49225T-HN)

I bought mine a couple of months ago and it's been running reliably. But there's been 2 times the camera went offline. The first time I just pulled and reinserted the Ethernet cable from the switch and it came back fine. The second time it restarted itself after a few minutes. So far I'm happy...

Greenbelt Camera and IR Lighting Project

Thanks tangent and mat200. In my research I didn't see that sharing a conduit wasn't code kosher. In fact originally I was just going to staple the romex and cat6 to the fence rails until I found out how cheap PVC conduit is. My main concern was preventing squirrels from getting at the wiring...

Greenbelt Camera and IR Lighting Project

Hey tangent, why is there a problem with 120VAC sharing the conduit? I am using romex inside the conduit. My original plan for this project was to use 12VDC all the way until I did voltage drop calculations. It's been a year since I did those calculations so I don't recall the exact figures but...

Greenbelt Camera and IR Lighting Project

Thanks Mike. I don't get a chance to see faces too often at night but just last night a couple of kids walked by close to the lights and they did look washed out. However when they were further away they looked ok. Here's the link for the $11 lights I used. These in particular do NOT have the...

Greenbelt Camera and IR Lighting Project

Thanks SouthernYankee. I was able to seal all the camera connectors within sealed junction boxes and they are powered by PoE so they don't require a separate power supply. See the finished photo below. I showed the junction box pics with the gasket lid off to be able to show the wiring inside...

Greenbelt Camera and IR Lighting Project

Thanks Tony. I'm using one power supply for each light and they are rated at 2 amps which should be plenty for these lights and they are weatherproof. I've been using 3 of them for the past year with no problems so I think they'll be ok. And they're pretty cheap to replace if not.

Greenbelt Camera and IR Lighting Project

I have a greenbelt area behind my house that I wanted to get "eyes" on. I decided to install 2 Dahua starlight cameras on my privacy fence, one on each end, as well as 6 IR lights along the fence to light things up. It is pitch black at night so I wanted to have pretty good power to get wide and...

Dahua 2MP 25x Starlight IR PTZ Network Camera (SD49225T-HN)

I've found another great feature of this camera; licence plate reading. I can capture plate numbers on my street, coming and going, from my camera installed above my garage door. Default settings, 15fps, daytime only, 30 - 40 mph speeds shown.

Dahua 2MP 25x Starlight IR PTZ Network Camera (SD49225T-HN)

Confirmed. It's not working on mine either. But I'll keep using the ONVIF because the far/near bug is less severe than the Dahau New reliability bug for my usage.

Dahua 2MP 25x Starlight IR PTZ Network Camera (SD49225T-HN)

Thanks Tinman! I deleted the camera and added it from scratch using find/inspect (I thought I already did that originally) and now ONVIF is working!

Dahua 2MP 25x Starlight IR PTZ Network Camera (SD49225T-HN)

I tried the ONVIF setting a couple of times but I don't get any PTZ response at all. "Dahua New" is the only setting that works for me (not reliably). Maybe my firmware is different than yours. System Version 2.622.0000000.7.R.R4.2510.9A.NR, Build Date: 2018-04-04 WEB Version 3.2.1.563437 ONVIF...

Dahua 2MP 25x Starlight IR PTZ Network Camera (SD49225T-HN)

Thanks looney. I left the screw heads exposed so if needed I can still remove the wood panels underneath and remove the camera. But the spackling in the the joints will have to be reapplied and repainted afterwards. Probably an hour or two of work. Not ideal so hopefully it will give me many...

Dahua 2MP 25x Starlight IR PTZ Network Camera (SD49225T-HN)

I finally finished the recessed install of my SD49225T PTZ. It was a lot of work but it's more discrete this way. I mounted it inside the 2nd story window frame above the garage door. The other cam is a Dahua 8MP to keep a wide angle eye on things. It's working great although BI seems to loose...

Dahua 2MP 25x Starlight IR PTZ Network Camera (SD49225T-HN)

I just received my new SD49225T-HN PTZ from Andy and I'm now bench testing it. 4 day shipping is amazing! So far everything seems good to go on it. No rebooting, no focus problems, no ghosting, no flickering, no pulsing, no throbbing, but I haven't tried any bird-watching with it yet. I'm pretty...

    Hardware acceleration cause of ghosting?

The "ghosting" you're seeing is actually dropped frames. Somewhere along the line some process isn't keeping up with the number of frames coming in from the camera or from the disc. Could be at the decoder or possibly your drive isn't keeping up with frames being recorded. BI status may show...

    Building Blueiris/workstation pc

Digital Watchdog Spectrum is a pretty slick VMS. I saw a product demo of it at an expo last year. They have a per camera licence fee which is reasonable considering what you're about to spend on your PC. It also has a lot of pro features that BI does not have. I believe you can download the...

Best low light camera for outdoors?

I'm in the process of installing wiring for a pair of surveillance cameras at the back of my property that is adjacent to a greenbelt area. It is totally pitch black out there at night so I plan to add some external IR lights. There has been at least one known break in at a neighbor's house...

Blue iris suddenly used 80% memory since last update.

I also had the increasing CPU problem. Installing the 4664 graphics driver fixed the problem for me. But I had to install it a couple of times for it to take. I had to go back to the driver to check the version number to make sure. This is the procedure I followed. CPU usage creeping up slowly

blue iris suddenly a memory hog and at 100% cpu usage

Will I have to reinstall the Intel driver after my next Windows update? I'm just asking because I thought drivers are automatically updated when Windows updates itself.

blue iris suddenly a memory hog and at 100% cpu usage

I'm also having the increasing CPU usage problem. I'm running 8 cameras (all 1080p or better) and I have to restart BI at least once per day. I just updated to the latest BI version 4.6.5.3 version and the problem still exists. Before that I had been using a very old version of BI, probably...

    Lens fog

I also ordered some silica packets but I haven't installed them yet. Please let me know if that fixes your problem. I'm afraid mine will fog up again when the weather changes.
