    How do you detect rodents?

Rat poop on the garage door. Rat poop in the air filter. It's time to take care of that before it becomes expensive to fix. I set up an ultrasound thing under the hood and a camera in the garage to see if it's efficacious. Motion only can take care of under the hood but not garage. But the...

They don't, and I did or I wouldn't be asking on this forum. Done all that, little buddy. And you're mistaking criticizing with whining, probably typical for you, used to take it like a champ ;)

That's what I did and doesn't work... might be another firmware, lemme check. done, life changed. Dahua must have Today the hardware UI scroll-zooms, just needed a few reboot maybe. The sync option would be nice on the web interface... maybe some firmware far in the future.

    Empiretech NVR questions

Hey pop it's not the 90s lol Seriously though, ergonomics on these surveillance things is atrocious and I can not imagine how bad military software must be. I've used the most arcane pro softwares from early era NLE to CAD and even these have some respect for convention or human beings (not...

    5.7.9.11 bugs

I could upload the log file to help dev fix that bug, where is it stored? that's changing decoder from VPP to intel it also happens when letting the UI run for a minute, so this is prob not VPP related another bug or maybe a limitation of BI: one camera, a RL410, keeps going no signal. the...

Any NVR with vehicle/human detection under $300?

Hardware platform is dahua so with some luck the dahua NVR will get the humans trigger... 2 more hardware NVR then It's noodle time! get a license of BI and either revive the threadripper or buy another machine

Any NVR with vehicle/human detection under $300?

Do you know anything about the chip? I wonder if they use one of these exotic Chinese chips or if it's the usual Atom with particularly well optimized code.

Any NVR with vehicle/human detection under $300?

This weekend I ran 200 feet of cat6 to the workshop, I might revive the aforementioned threadripper and use it as media server/central heater :headbang: Anyone wants to buy one 100gbe Mellanox ConnectX-4 CX455A? It's set to ethernet mode.

Any NVR with vehicle/human detection under $300?

15W is incredible for so much. AI is done on custom ASIC? I frankly forgot about energy but that was a reason for not deploying this mellanox threadipper server I still have sitting as spare parts. The chips alone is 50W idle. Add some AI + video decoding on core and you get lolz Watts

Any NVR with vehicle/human detection under $300?

Ouroboros of ip cams haha I tried BI again after reading your post and ... god this thing is so sluggish I hope I'll find some clever hardware solution. Good questions. I only know that Chinese fabs run on ultra tight margins and are ace at optimizing hardware. I'm amazed at how well this...

Any NVR with vehicle/human detection under $300?

I tried that yesterday. The camera some times spits out motion = "true" in the XML string. I never saw something that sounds like smart detection.

Any NVR with vehicle/human detection under $300?

What i'm saying is I don't care to record what's triggered the event, as long as it is not just motion. so my question was to be understood as "what NVR can pull such trigger info" because this cheap-o sure isn't it. Or maybe the equally cheapo cam is not sending the good stuff.

Any NVR with vehicle/human detection under $300?

So that's why they all do AI on the cameras. Makes sense. The AI detection chip that connects to the sensor are probably cheap too my NVR chinese spec sheet has no AI https://www.xiongmaitech.com/en/index.php/product/product-detail/4/183/450 They sell sensor detectors Hangzhou Xiongmai...

Any NVR with vehicle/human detection under $300?

Do you guys know how these NVR delegate AI detection to cameras? in other word, how is the detection transmitted to the NVR.. All my cameras except this old 410 have the appropriate detection. I could do without an NVR and check each camera's local recording but meh..

Any NVR with vehicle/human detection under $300?

I tried the Hikvision on amazon, which sucks with only one channel with human/vehicle detection. Then got the deal of the century with human/vehicle detection on 10 channels, only 80 bucks... except that it does none of that off course, with the typically misleading Amazon chinesium info sheet...

Is there a more comprehensive profiler in blue iris?

Version 5.8. All optimizations on, even tried the h264 pass-thru etc... But let's stay on topic here, what I'm interested in is profiler functions.

Is there a more comprehensive profiler in blue iris?

BI wobbles between 50 and 100% and I have no idea why. I'm down to 4 cameras and it used to handle 8 cameras at 70%. Could be decoding, could be motion detection, could be IO - no idea. Is there a more granular profiler in this software?

    Review-SD4A425DB-HNY 1/2.8" CMOS 4MP 25x Starlight Auto-tracking MiniPTZ

I'm not getting that exactly: It auto tracks but after a second or so turns away. It's upside down for testing, maybe that's why. Great design though. Can this also pan between N presets and do the smart detect on each waypoint? FOC seems narrow at min zoom, what is it, like 70 degrees?
