Is there a android turn your old phone into a IP camera app for NVR recording?

ONVIF COMPLIANT! My Geovision NVR sees it as a ONVIF camera and I am sure any NVR that can use ONVIF can see it.

Is there a android turn your old phone into a IP camera app for NVR recording?

Ok. I agree the zoom is not optical but how would it not replace a IP camera when my NVR can record from it all day long (using motion detection on the NVR aiming at a fish tank)? Can you even get a 5MP (currently 2MP) wifi varifocal (optical or not) camera for $50 (my old HTC sensation 4G)...

Is there a android turn your old phone into a IP camera app for NVR recording?

Check out OCULAR IP camera. It converts your android smartphone into a ONVIF compliant camera. My Geovision NVR can connect to it and record from it as an ONVIF camera. AMAZING! I now need it to switch between front and back cameras and do the zooming. Also hope it will record at the max...

Oh man, you work for Dahua and you don't like consumers pushing for improvement? I am done here!

    Dahua 4mp, 6mm turrets (IPC-HDW4421C)

It is not called bitching. If they advertise it to work with NFS, which is a standard, and it doesn't work with most of the NFS solution out there, then it is a false advertisement. We do not live in your perfect world and we do not want to spend money on more hardware. Synology surveillance...

    Dahua 4mp, 6mm turrets (IPC-HDW4421C)

Google "Dahua Name Convention". Here is the capture of what you need to read. Except for Pal or NTSC, Chinese or English, each firmware is for a family of cameras. I bet IPC-HDW4421C shares the same firmware with IPC-HDBW4421E. I am upgrading 20 analog cameras for a commerical bldg. I am...

    Dahua 4mp, 6mm turrets (IPC-HDW4421C)

I got couple IPC-HDBW4421E from Amazon and they have 2.400.000.23.R Build 2015-12-15. My understanding is that it shares the firmware with IPC-HDW4421C. According to Dahua naming conversion, only the housing is different. So, 23R is the latest? Is there any newer one? Too bad I can't save it...

Can your Smart PSS REMOTELY playback your cameras that record to their local NFS?

Ok. Conclusion. With IPC-HDBW2300R with Eng NTSC version dated 2015-11-06 (the latest I could find), you can't playback (remotely or within LAN) any NAS (NFS) recordings using Smart PSS (English or Int'l version). It will give you an error of "Failed to Start Playback. DHNETSDK returns error."...

Can your Smart PSS REMOTELY playback your cameras that record to their local NFS?

Thank you VERY much, cor35vet for the info. I used another "Genuine" Dahua (that has logo) and everything works fine. It even has some latest firmware that has playback on its GUI. The one that doesn't work is so-called Dahua OEM from amazon. I just talked to the seller and he said he would get...

Anyone got Dahua camera to record to NFS share??

Good point. Let me start a new thread so that the title reflects the context: Can your Smart PSS REMOTELY playback your cameras that record to their local NFS?

Can your Smart PSS REMOTELY playback your cameras that record to their local NFS?

Accessing the NFS share directly OR thru the cameras - that is exactly the point. If it is accessing directly and is given the local IP that only the camera sees, then it will fail. VPN will be a good solution (if I don't hit more road blocks.) I wonder if smart PSS likes that port number change...

Can your Smart PSS REMOTELY playback your cameras that record to their local NFS?

Ok. so far I got pass the NFS recording.... Here is my scenario: I have four Dahua IPC-HDBW2300R-Z and one synology DS215J at home. Synology has 1TB and its NFS is enabled, along with quota, permission stuff. All four cameras created folders in each of their own shares so it is recording...

Anyone got Dahua camera to record to NFS share??

Randyth, you keep your SmartPSS constantly running on a PC taking up CPU power? That would also use full bandwidth to pull videos from your cameras 24x7 to analysize the motion. I think if the cameras have the power to do the video detection and record directly to a NAS NFS share, why not let...

Anyone got Dahua camera to record to NFS share??

I played with my Dahua camera a bit this weekend. I also have a Hikvision camera, synology DS1815+, and a Windows server 2012R2. I have my Hikvision camera set to record videos to my NFS share on my Windows 2012R2 server. It works perfectly. And I use iVMS to playback and view multiple Hikvision...

Trouble getting camera to record on hard drive

I played with my Dahua camera a bit this weekend. I also have a Hikvision camera, synology DS1815+, and a Windows server 2012R2. You are not supposed to need Smart PSS to make the Dahua to record videos (motion detect or 24x7) to a NAS (FTP or NFS). I have my Hikvision camera set to record...

Quota for Hikvision camera on NAS

Well, at least HikVision has that feature. I have been using eBay Chinese ONVIF cameras and Geovision NVR to detect motion and save and playback them. If I change out all cameras to HikVision and use the local SD card storage or Net HDD, I might end up ditching the NVR (Intel i7 running 24x7)...

Quota for Hikvision camera on NAS

I see - Placeholder files immediately created when camera "formats". I am having trouble connecting my to my synology. It can't mount the NFS share. Looks like I have to enable Quota for the share as the camera might be having a hard time determining the size of the share... I see - no way to...

Quota for Hikvision camera on NAS

What happened when that 1TB is filled up? The camera will fail to save videos and it never informs you and next day you have a burglary and you need to lookup the video and it is not there? Hikvision really need to figure out how to delete old videos to keep the storage usage under control...

Quota for Hikvision camera on NAS

No auto recycling? HikVision cameras can't delete the oldest videos when it sees that storage is full? Who wants to watch the storage and do the manual deletion?

My neighborhood wants to watch the street together.

Post#1 stated I need varifocal which normally means 2.8 to 12mm. I also stated it is for outdoor street viewing. Yes, some cameras do better at night and some worse, especially those older ones but my sun, my street, my houses here are not much different than yours, am I right? Outdoor is...

Go away if you are just pretend to be a pro. Your helpful help is not welcome. I have been as specific as I could - varifocal, outdoor, 3MP, telescopic lens, one 4K. If you can't make suggestions (family, specific models, or just features needed), then don't waste your time. This forum here is...
