BI running VERY high CPU 95%+ (see Pic)

Oddly enough I didn't have any crashes running 4771 for a month. CPU may have been creeping but I was changing things and rebooting a couple times a week. Longest contiguous on time was a couple weeks. I rolled back to 4542 and didn't notice any change to CPU utilization but again, it hasn't...

BI running VERY high CPU 95%+ (see Pic)

Thanks for taking the time to reply after that heated discussion in that other thread. Turning all 5 cameras down to 10fps and 2048 cuts the BI service CPU utilization almost in half to 30%. BI reports 1350kb/s and 240MP/s where before, at 15fps 4096, it was 2650kB/s and 360MP/s. I'll so some...

And we cant help you read the responses we provide and understand them. I spelled it all out in the thread I linked. I'm fully licensed, use direct to disk on all cameras, hardware acceleration is enabled, provided fps and kb/s numbers, confirmed Win defender settings, CPU model, etc.. If I...

You know what doesn't make sense, all the threads on CPU utilization and what to do for it and none of it made any difference in my utilization till that 'limit decoding' button. If the stuff Fenderman goes on about in all those CPU threads had any meaningful impact on utilization people...

    4.6.4 - October 21, 2017

Amazing, I checked the "Limit decoding unless required" button on all 5 of my cameras and CUP utilization (with the gui closed and me chrome remote desktoped in) dropped to less than 7% for BI! Prior to this option it would have been in the 50's. With the BI open CPU was in the 30's where...

BI running VERY high CPU 95%+ (see Pic)

Fully licensed. All cams set to d2d with hardware accel Yes(noVPP). Win Defender has exclusions for program dir on C: and the entire E: drive. Now that you bring it up I need to investigate if Defender excludes the directory AND all subdirectories or if they need to be explicitly excluded...

BI running VERY high CPU 95%+ (see Pic)

Right. So, not to hijack this thread but, I currently have 5 cameras running. 4 CMIP3042 running 15fps and 2688*1520 and one Dahua HDW5231r-z running 15fps and 1920*1080. The system is a Dell Inspiron 3650 i5-6400, 8gig mem, Win10 Home. Three physical disks, OS with BI and database, the...

BI running VERY high CPU 95%+ (see Pic)

Thanks for responding, I've got it set to 10fps currently. The 45-50% OP mentions seems realistic but is still lower than what I see. Reading as many threads on CPU utilization as I can and my own experience with my system, I find it hard to believe people can get 25% or lower with 6-10...

BI running VERY high CPU 95%+ (see Pic)

What version did you go back to? I've got a similar system that hovers around 60% when viewed remote to the web page. If I start BI on the server (it's running as a service in Win10) CPU jumps up to 80-90%. My current driver is Intel 22.20.16.4771 Thanks, davidk

VPN Primer - or answers to questions you dare not ask....

Yes, thanks. That was the last piece of the puzzle to understanding (at a high level) how this would work.

VPN Primer - or answers to questions you dare not ask....

It may be obvious to others but how do you find your 'incoming-vpn' address when you're out in the wild? The cable company dynamically assigns an address to the external port on my firewall and occasionally changes it. I could look at it when I'm at home but it could change and I'd have no way...

Seems a good value indoor domestic camera

Just received mine from Amazon. Here's a peek inside for those that are interested. There are seals around the mic and speaker but many other holes in the case. If you mount this outside make sure it's sheltered. And a request...I thought I'd tweak the focus (even thought it was pretty...

Recommend me camera for under floorboards

Intriguing...If it will really have no access, no scuttle holes or other openings, what are you monitoring for? What are you hoping to catch with the camera? Even sealed areas of a house will not necessarily be sealed from spiders. Some say the IR light attracts bugs and if webs develop in...

BI hardware review and could I do better?

I've been searching for all the hardware/software optimization tips I can find to make my system run as efficiently as possible and I think I've reached the end (or at least a point that I'm comfortable with). I've got CPU utilization down from 50% to under 20% and it's giving me what I want in...

    Cameras facing each other?

Thanks again, I got the new LTCMIP3042 4mp EXIR turret cameras and have been struggling up the steep learning curve of Blue Iris. I've just got the cameras in the basement for now. I'm tearing down the porch ceiling to run new wires. I'm impressed with the distribution of IR light from these...

    Cameras facing each other?

Thanks guys. I've been contemplating separate emitters. I'm hopeful the EXIR is as without hot spots as the videos. Are there emitters that use those same type of LED/lens? If the emitters are the normal LEDs wouldn't they have the same hot spot?

    Cameras facing each other?

Could I get some opinions on my camera placement? I currently have two cheap analog cameras on my front porch. They are about 10' apart and facing each other (Not directly looking at each other but enough that they see each others IR) This gives me a good view up and down the street and doesn't...

IR compatible vs IR corrected lenses?

Thanks, I was hoping that was true, I just wasn't seeing it called out on the specs of some lenses.

IR compatible vs IR corrected lenses?

Greetings, I'm replacing a 7 camera analog system with Hikvision IP cameras and iVMS4200. Right now I've only got one 3mp bullet (DS-2CD2032) with a 4mm lens and have been playing with it in the basement. I'd like to play with different lenses and was doing some reading about different focal...
