Good deal Annke 180 degree dual 1/1.8 for $220?

Are you sure the code works? I tried it and was told it wasn't valid for the turret.

Take a closer look. The electronic PTX is quite cool and may be worth the price of admission! I just purchase one to test out and I'm digging it so far!

Good deal Annke 180 degree dual 1/1.8 for $220?

I picked up 2 of these from Newegg to test. Paid $186 for the pair, with tax and ship. I need coverage in low-light areas and this cam says it supports IR. If it doesn't work well for my home, I'll try them up north at the cottage. Maybe I'll catch a wolf or bear... lol

What is the role of an SD card in a camera if you're using an NVR or Blue Iris?

Deffo motion only. Not a ton of street traffic - we're at the end of the subdivision. I'll just go with 256 cards and be done with it... lol

What is the role of an SD card in a camera if you're using an NVR or Blue Iris?

Curious - using SD as a backup makes sense if the computer goes ka-bloo-ey. Would a 128GB card be sufficient? Installed in all cameras?

Just saw the attachment. I'll be good running 5 cat6 cables in 1"

Does that apply to low voltage ethernet? Each POE run consumes perhaps 20 watts.

Good deal Annke 180 degree dual 1/1.8 for $220?

Thanks - Pretty sure this is the Hik match to the FCD600: DS-2CD2366G2P-ISU/SL - Pro Series (All) - Hikvision

Hi - were you able to find out if there is a Hik equivalent?

Good deal Annke 180 degree dual 1/1.8 for $220?

I know this is an older thread, but is there an equivalent Hikvision firmware for the FCD600 cams? I'm looking for a couple of cams just to cover a wider expanse that can detect/observe. Other cams will be used to identify. Thanks!

    Ethernet in PVC conduit

Nice video! lol I have no problem messing with douche bags who mess with me. I may pick up one or two when the sale hits tomorrow. I also have 2 of the SD1A203T-GN cams - might they be a better option?

    Ethernet in PVC conduit

You happy with both choices? I'm struggling with what would give me the best coverage vs the best image. Mostly with delivery guys, but with the occasional peddler too. Part of me wants to get one of those active deterrence cams. But another part of me likes it when the "P" in my first name...

    Ethernet in PVC conduit

I was reading through your thread on camera placement and was curious what you're using by the door entry points? My original thought was to use the SD1A203T-GN cams as I can install above the front door and my back slider doors below and above the deck. I can still use them inside the house...

    Ethernet in PVC conduit

Hey Jesse - followup question for you. I need to run 4 cat6 cables per conduit. Would 3/4 be sufficient or should I go with 1"? Planning on doing 2 cams per conduit run and having spare cables in case anything goes sideways. Thanks!

BI in a VM - good idea or ??

Thank you for your feedback! I wasn't aware that Win 11 had this ability. I'll have to check if my i5 box could be upgraded. The server I have is dual Xeon, but the machine is about 7 years old. Not sure I could do Win 11 on it. Thanks again - now you've given me something else to play with!

Indeed... One part of me wants to hide everything so the look of the house isn't compromised. Another wants to paint everything bright orange and tell everyone they're on camera. Ultimately, my bride will decide... lol

Thanks for the quick reply, and fair point about cutting the conduit. My plan will have plenty of cam coverage so someone should be detected and identified well before they get to the conduit. Thanks again! Rick

    Ethernet in PVC conduit

Appreciate it Jesse. Running in conduit will make it so much easier for this old goat to quickly get the wiring in place. And your comment about an IR flood strikes a nerve as well. I have virtually no light in my back yard, other than some inexpensive motion lighting so we can see our pups...

    Ethernet in PVC conduit

Hello again, I'm finalizing my game plan for ethernet cabling for my outdoor cams. I have access to the sills in the basement and have used this to run electrical outlets outside in weather tight boxes. From a security perspective tho, I'm curious if there's any downside to running cat 6...

    Camera placement

Thanks so much for the quick response and great feedback! Cam 1 - ideally to DETECT at the street and distinguish between animal and human. We get a lot of wildlife - deer, fox, coyote, rabbit, etc. And ideally to IDENTIFY about 15-25 ft from the garage. We do have a bumpout garage setback...

BI in a VM - good idea or ??

Thx for the feedback! I'm much stronger with Windows than Linux, and while I can allocate a bunch of resources to a VM, I'm pretty sure my Xeon is older and may not support Quicksync properly. The Optiplex is only 4 years old with a 7th generation i5. I'll start with that.
