I wish to use the alarm outputs on my NVR but sadly my unit 7604NXI-K1/4P isn't fitted with them:( Does anyone know if it's upgradeable or maybe just requires a cable installing inside the NVR to an empty socket on pcb?

Just received my new NVR as above and from the moment the power supply was first plugged into the rear of the box the fan has been on continuously. Contacted the vendor and he says this is normal but seems a bit odd. The NVR works fine however. Is this correct and normal?
