Trouble with new DS-2CD3B86G2T-IZHSY -missing part of menu

I have an old machine connected to a seismometer, no reason to upgrade to anything else. Mind it didn't 'cure' my issue with one of the cams......

Trouble with new DS-2CD3B86G2T-IZHSY -missing part of menu

Have used a PC running Win 7 to make and check my settings.... Easy way out!

Trouble with new DS-2CD3B86G2T-IZHSY -missing part of menu

Just looked at the registry on my Win10 - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft exists this far, but no entry for Internet Explorer...

    Blue Iris and CodeProject.AI ALPR

I've just started to use this, and am generally happy to continue to do so - need more experimenting though. The CPU usage now hovers around 10-15% instead of 0-3% which I can live with. One annoying issue is the full screen live view has become remarkably "stuttery" - even on main stream at...

Trouble with new DS-2CD3B86G2T-IZHSY -missing part of menu

Indeed - it didn't work for the change I tried to make this morning. The cam continues to react but not trigger through to BI.

Trouble with new DS-2CD3B86G2T-IZHSY -missing part of menu

Looking in Edge >> "settings" >> "default browser" >> add cams, by URL, under "Internet Explorer mode pages". Seems to work - though I might be mislead. I'll find out soon when one of my mis-functioning camera triggers again - I had it not to record out!!!!

The Importance & My Recommended Usage of I-Frame, CBR vs VBR, Shutter Speed In Your Configurations

Thanks. Very informative, though a little over my head. I was hoping there'd be a glimmer of explanation in settings as to why one of my Dahua cams will trigger but won't PTZ (though in a wildlife position - not Human/Vehicle). I had a heron walk upto it and fill almost 60% of the image - but...

    SD49225XA-HNR

One is back out working. The attached photo was taken last night - zoomed to around 10 metres. The second 225 still in ITC, it'll work but only with an external power supply - debating whether to swap out the rj45 connector.

    Connection issue

What can I say - I don't read widely enough- I was obviously just lucky in choice with the first 100metres - CCA elsewhere on much shorter runs (<50M) didn't alert me ...... At least the replacement is advertised as solid copper (in capital letters) and 23awg.... Will test it out with the cam...

    Connection issue

Sadly CCA, 24awg - but another 225 works well at 105 metres - probably not good enough for the 425. The other at 105metres is on solid copper 24awg - not too sure why I didn't repeat that order!

    Connection issue

The 225, whether at 100, 18 or 2 metres always shorts out equivalent to the end of the cable. It'll work with direct 12V power.

    Connection issue

The 425 is showing on the network router, even at 100 metres. The web page is accessible at 2 and 18 metres - but 100 metres it's not.

    Connection issue

That's what I intend to do this morning, after I get the new 425 back to factory reset so I can access the gui. (This 225 was originally on a 15 metre cable until it malfunctioned).

    Connection issue

The switch is an at, providing max 30W per port.

Thanks. I have a thought or two on how I might solve it...

    Connection issue

Although I have a PTZ on cable at 105metres working OK - perhaps this particular one doesn't like the length..... Might be an explanation.

    Connection issue

Brought in, but not yet looked into. The older one I put in its place. It worked indoors, but won't outdoors - it seems it needs an external power source, then it will function - doable but not in current position some 100 metre from the house..... Brand new cable! Been out and double-checked...

    Connection issue

Chuckles - will do, but I'll have to bring it in to do it justice! I tried that yesterday - maybe not for a full minute - but at least a count to 35.... ;-)

    Connection issue

Just tried IE; no joy. Used a separate switch - still shows power and signal through to the cam - but nothing, as yet, identifies the cam on-line.... Next try a standby router to see if that helps. Running out of options as Fing now doesn't find the cam on 192.168.1.108 - which it did before...

    Connection issue

Thanks @wittaj : I've done all that, except use IE. The first of the pair is OK, it's just this second one.... I'll report back.

    Connection issue

Frankly I'm confused. When my new 2 * 49425xb-hnr cams arrived I connected to my laptop via a spare switch and changed the IP addresses. Fitted into place. One works. However the other, I can't access the damn thing. Config tools can't find it through the network, nor does it show in my...

That's already enabled, but I'm still pondering, though at the moment I have another issue!

    Auto Tracking Pets with Dahua

Ah, but mine triggered on the pheasant well enough, but didn't do any ptz'ing. Plenty of experimenting needed.

    Auto Tracking Pets with Dahua

Thanks. Did see that, but I don't imagine Dahua flash their own cams when they use them themselves for wildlife monitoring; do they? :idk:

    Auto Tracking Pets with Dahua

Obviously can be done with Dahua cameras.....https://internationalsecurityjournal.com/dahua-wildlife-in-china/

    Auto Tracking Pets with Dahua

That's interesting, you have a blue rectangle around the dog. I can't get that using dahua software - but I do if I go through BI. I prefer the camera to do the 'heavy lifting' - and I have the same issue in that the cameras don't PTZ for animals. Just had a pheasant walk boldly in front of one...

    SD49225XA-HNR

After taking both these down from their positions, I have placed them indoors. I've taken off the backs, and by recycle of power (12V 5a powerbank) on/off, with pressing of reset button every day or so. One came back to life after 10 days and has been returned to its position. The other...
