Thank you for the suggestion, I wasn't aware that was a common issue. It definitely could be the case as there was a leak right around that area.

DVR camera works for a few minutes then this.......

I didn't see a section specifically for DVR cameras so I hope this is the proper place to post. I am trying to figure out what is causing this office camera to go flakey. Steps I have taken: REMOVED WORKING CAMERA FROM SIDE OF BUILDING / TRIED ON CHANNEL 8 ( OFFICE CAM CABLE ) DID NOT WORK...

SLOW CONNECTION ACCESSING CAMERAS FROM WITHIN THE NETWORK????

Hey TonyR , I never saw that last message for some reason where he requested a layout. I did end up getting it squared away but I defaulted to my old way of setting everything to DHCP onsite and then making everything static. This issue is a occuring on another system all together. I still...

It is a hikvision system The NVR is ds-7616ni-e2/16p, 8 cameras are connected to the back of the NVR the other 7 cameras are connected...

I am a dahua guy but I need to help someone out that has a hikvision system. Is Hik-connect the app to use for p2p connection via barcode? I also see people mention iVMS-4500 HD so I wasn't sure what one was there newest software. PS the reason for the p2p is they seem to be having a double nat...

NVR/ IP cameras- Setting up static ips and proper subnets

I thought in order for local computers to be able to access the NVR via the network that the NVR had to have an IP address in the range of the networks IP?

NVR/ IP cameras- Setting up static ips and proper subnets

Ok, so here are all of the settings. As you can see in the cameras registration, the cameras on the POE switch are being detected but when I click on the "live" icon it gives me an error "cannot find the network host". Even after I add the cameras the video boxes on the LIVE page show "Can not...

NVR/ IP cameras- Setting up static ips and proper subnets

I'm sorry, like I said I only know the basics of networking. I honestly up to this point had no idea what the subnet mask was for . On the nvr I used a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 so I should change this?

NVR/ IP cameras- Setting up static ips and proper subnets

I was using that as an example as to not disclose the networks static IP to the internet. The NVR IP was not set up using that IP.

NVR/ IP cameras- Setting up static ips and proper subnets

Ok, so I tried to set up everything with compatible static IP addresses on my test bench but ran into a problem. The NVR is a 16 port 32 channel so 7 (23 in total) of the cameras have to be on a separate Poe switch. The 16 that it directly plugged in show up fine via the NVR. The seven that...

NVR/ IP cameras- Setting up static ips and proper subnets

So, due to the different ranges of ip addresses and subnets provided by different internet provider ( IE comcast vs verizon etc ) I typically leave everything on DHCP until I have everything working on the network and then just change everything over to static with the current settings. I...
