Foscam FI9831W not connecting after power outage and making strange noise

This looks very similar to the Foscam, is it similar? Noticed it has a 90 degree viewing angle. The FI9831W has 70 degree viewing angle (2.8 mm lens). I need the viewing with. I already looked at at the Foscam R2 and R4 with the idea to reuse the mount (btw. the Amcrest probably woudl work as...

Foscam FI9831W not connecting after power outage and making strange noise

I tried the 5 second reset using the pinhole on top. No luck. I also tried longer than 5 seconds... Looks like the camera is bricked. Strange what switching off power can do. It was my first cam. So, my next question is with what to replace it. What I liked about the FI9831W: - image was good...

Foscam FI9831W not connecting after power outage and making strange noise

I had to disconnect power for an hour for an electrical project. After I switched power back on my Foscam FI9831W started making a strange noise. Kind of a low pitch strobing noise. The camera does not work. It is on WiFi, configured for static IP. I am sure this wsn't the first power outage...

BlueIris as a serivce using more CPU than as an app?

I have to observe for a bit longer. It seems that BI steadily reduced CPU usage over the last hour.

BlueIris as a serivce using more CPU than as an app?

Started to play around with the BlueIris settings. I like the idea of running it as a service. However, it is my impression it uses a bit more CPU than running it as a straight app (without the console open)? Is this expected?

Microsoft Firewall setting on local PC - best approach?

I installed BI on Win Svr 2012. All worked well. Also, shifting the config and license. Nice job making this easy. I run into one small issue. I am using port 81 for internal BI webserver access. Looks like the MS Firewall blocks port 81 inbound by default. So, I added a rule to allow port...

Thinkserver TS140 with Xeon E3-1225 or 1226 ok to run BI?

The TS140 comes typically wither with a Intel Core i3-4130 3.4 GHz or Intel Xeon E3-1225 v3 or Intel Xeon E3-1226V3 . I know BlueIris recommends a i5 4590 or better. So, the i3 wis out. Is there a concern about the Xeon E3-1225 or 1226?

    Blue Iris Hardare Requirements

Anyone using Lenovo Thinkserver Ts140? Will this work? Anything to consider? I need to upgrade my current server and came across the Thinkserver Ts140 due to the chassis. I want to keep two hotswap trays in the front. The TS140 is the only model I found that still has both a spare 5 1/4 and 3...

Dell PowerEdge T130 - what CPU is suffieinct for 3-4 cams?

Dell PowerEdge T130 - what CPU is suffieinct for 3-4 cams?

Turns out Dell PowerEdge can't be expanded in the front bezel. Can't add a 5 1/4 hotswap bay or even a second DVD drive or so. I am looking at the previous PowerEdge model, Lenovo server, or an OptiPlex after all. In any case, What OS is BlueIris confirmed to work? Would win server 2012 be ok?

Dell PowerEdge T130 - what CPU is suffieinct for 3-4 cams?

Thanks. I would need to find the older OptiPlex mini-tower design. The new ones don't appear to be a good solution for removable trays in the front.

Dell PowerEdge T130 - what CPU is suffieinct for 3-4 cams?

I have currently PowerEdge T100 that brings the CPU to 100% with 3 cams. I like the form factor and build quality of the Dell PowerEdge. Therefore, I am looking at the the T130. Wondering what CPU choice is sufficient for 3-4 cams...

Matching junction box for Hikvision DS-2CD2542FWD-IWS/4 4Mp

BTW. the camera mount is ~120mm So, a box 120mm or larger (if there is a cover) would work. Is thee some generic product or from another brand that could work? Ideally I am looking for a slight wedge.

Matching junction box for Hikvision DS-2CD2542FWD-IWS/4 4Mp

I got another Hikvision DS-2CD2542FWD-IWS/4 4Mp (compact dome camera). I am again in need of a shallow junction box to hide the cable wig. I only need the power going through the wall. I don't think I can or want to make a big cavity in a door header. I had a situation when I needed a canopy...

    Camera installation location help needed

So, corridor mode is a setting in the camera? Do the Hikvisions' compact dome' s support this? Or do I need to get a particular model? Also, regarding the placement. I have a wall light inside entry and one outside that is on during the night. Will the camera be able to cope with that light...

    Camera installation location help needed

Hi, I would like to install a camera in front of my townhouse. Primary purpose to watch if someone walks in and out to the front door (e.g. parcels ). And a bit of driveway. Ideally I could install the camera pointing out by the door. However, due to the construction of the front entrance...

    Outdoor power supply & UPS

I use a Wifi camera, not POE. Pulling wire in my townhouse is challenging due to its design. Why UPS: I tend to have several power outages during the year.... Also, (although I am not that paranoid) the power could be disconnected where there is no camera.
