HTTP Snapshots Download Times Slow [Advanced Question]

I have 15 cameras and had been polling them for AI because my Jetson nano couldn’t keep up with rtsp streams. But eventually they would stop responding to http requests and I’d have to reboot the camera. What I found does work is having each camera setup to ftp on motion. The images are high...

    Parking lot light pole install

I have a parking lot with a light on a pole near the edge. The light is a bright LED kind pointing down. I’m wondering if it would be a problem to have the camera below the luminaire. I’m trying to avoid a second pole just for cameras. I’d like it to function like this

    IPC-B54IR-Z4E LPR Setup

I purchased my LPR camera on one of Empire Andy's Black Friday sales. I knew the install was going to be a ton of work - and it was - so I had been putting off this project for a while. I was inspired by crc2004's post some time back. To install, I ended up running CAT6 direct burial cable with...

    Recording gaps on LNT6416

I have a LNT6416 NVR with four HD Purple HDs, setup to record six cameras, mostly 5442 variety. The NVR is supposed to have 200MB incoming bandwidth. Whenever there is a IVS event, I get a several second gap, at the time of the event. The gap is present when playing back through SmartPSS or the...

Solar Smart Bird Feeder with Camera 1080HD

I've been interested in a bird feeder cam for a while now. However, almost all are battery, wiif and cloud (and subscription) - pretty much everything you don't want in a camera. I couldn't find much in the way of wired cams, and didn't want to trench ethernet to my tree before I found out if...

    Bird feeder

I know this thread is a year old, but does anyone have experience with any of the AI bird cams? There seem to be a number of cameras with integrated wifi, solar, AI, etc.. Not for watching a nest, but for capturing the different birds who visit. I checked Amazon and found a wide variety of these...

    Mailbox camera.

I have a z-wave sensor in my plastic post wired to magnetic contacts on the door. When it opens I have a routine to announce on Alexa and to send a picture from my driveway cam to my phone. It doesn't let me see what's inside the mailbox, but it's very reliable.

    Amcrest NV4108E-IP5M-T1179EW4-2TB Review

I just checked my managed switch and it's 100Mbps. But the whole thing only supports 80Mbps. I have 5 cameras connected through the WAN side. The other 3 I put on a Dahua NVR.

How To Upgrade Amcrest / Lorex to Dahua Firmware And Get All Dahua Features

I think the plain dahua firmware requires all the http streams to be over TLS. I don't know why and can't seem to disable it. My camera are only on my LAN, so I don't care about the encryption.

How To Upgrade Amcrest / Lorex to Dahua Firmware And Get All Dahua Features

I got the certificate issue sorted out - eventually. I had to enable https, then I had to fool around getting Chrome to trust the self signed certificate. My mixed branding went away after I refreshed by browser - now it's the generic Dahua throughout.

How To Upgrade Amcrest / Lorex to Dahua Firmware And Get All Dahua Features

I updated my Amcrest NV4108E-HS with Dahua firmware with "DH_NVR4XXX-4KS2_MultiLang_V4.001.0000005.1.R.210713". It works more or less, and has an interesting mix of Amcrest and Dahua branding: It ads the AI search as well as the audio player. Unfortunately, my live feeds and playback no...

Yet another new lorex Costco kit. 4k IP Fusion + alarm kit

What subnet are you using on your lan? Most users use 192.168.x.x, but if you have a 10.x.x.x it may be confusing lorex. In that case you can change the ip range of the poe ports (or change your home ip range).

Yet another new lorex Costco kit. 4k IP Fusion + alarm kit

The Lorex workflow expects you to plug all cameras in when you first setup the NVR. Adding them after the wizard or changing the ports can get the nvr confused, but it’s always possible to reinitialize them. There should be no reason once setup that all 8 cameras don’t initialize on boot up.

Yet another new lorex Costco kit. 4k IP Fusion + alarm kit

Are all 8 plugged into the rear PoE ports on the NVR? They should all just appear. You may need to reinitialize them from the Add Camera menu. You can’t do 8 camera on their own PoE switch to NVR lan port. The nvr will create back pressure on the switch and all your network will go wonky.

    Dual NIC 4216?

What can I do with the second NIC for my 4216? Can they be run on the same LAN or is the second to connect cameras on an isolated LAN, much like the PoE NVRs have a separate switch config?

Help with Lorex NVR (Setting up PoE switch and Cameras keep changing ip)

It shouldn’t matter how many switches you have. Are you connected using P2P or vpn? Most people recommend turning off p2p and only using vpn. Most likely you don’t have enough upstream bandwidth for a stable stream. Does it work longer if you are only viewing one camera in SD?

Any reviews of Amcrest IP8M-T2669EW-AI ?

I've posted a review for this camera - I didn't try replacing the firmware. For home use I like to hack away, but for someone else, I'd rather install something which they could hire someone else to support...

    Mailbox Camera

I'm not sure which camera you have, but you may want to adjust your night settings. Switching to color isn't helping anyone, and you can tamp down the headlights so they don't wash our the picture. There are some suggestions in the LPR forum. Just park your car at night in the same spot and...

    Dahua NVR series

I'm looking to replace a NV4116-HS with a 5xxx series NVR, mostly because I hit the 80Mbps limit (guess I should have planned better). I see under different brands there are 5200, 5400 and now 5800 series. The last two digits indicate the number of channels it can support, but are there hardware...

Building a new house and Electrician is installing Paradox

Having wired sensors has many advantages, even just running the sensors to central panel can be useful later. I was happy my house has wired door a d window sensors built into the frames. They are invisible when closed and difficult to spot when open. Each door or window is on its own “zone”...
