    T5442T-ZE / HDW5231R-ZE - SD Card Format Incompatibility?

I would use FAT32 for all cameras that come to mind for 256MB up to 32 GB, using the default sector sizes. I am fond of formatting once slowly (not quick) when re-using an SSD to re-zero the bytes and confirm / remap bad sectors. I also do that when giving one to someone to avoid the...

    T5442T-ZE / HDW5231R-ZE - SD Card Format Incompatibility?

note, i believe that the Mac actually formats the disk as FAT32 (not FAT, which is obsolete but still works) when choosing MS-DOS FAT. for sure it does if the disk is over 32GB. I am glad it worked out in the end.

    T5442T-ZE / HDW5231R-ZE - SD Card Format Incompatibility?

what format type did you try from your computer for the >32GB uSD card? FAT32, exFAT or other (NTFS,etc)? I assume FAT32 was tried, as it is the most compatible. did you try a not quick format as well (10 min vs 4 seconds) to zero out the bytes?

    Image sensor size - 1/1.8” vs 1/2.8"

remember the image sensor pixels is x*y, so it is the square of that, so more like 2.25 x edit: 38.2/18.63 = 2.05 x larger area

BI Clips and Archiving, mainly dealing with New and Alerts

Ok I just made a change to the Alerts folder settings. I reduced its size back down to 1GB and set the age limit to 7 days. I guess I will see what happens and use some trial and error. The cameras are still set to save triggers to Database only. Hopefully i will see at least three weeks of...

Review-Dahua/EmpireTech Dual lens IPC-HDBW5441F-AS-E2 (The Boobie Cam Upgrade)

I agree, but it might be good to point out, just because it has in and out audio, it is not the same a duplex audio, like you would want on a phone or doorbell camera situation. To this point eufy's new doorbell camera will have two cameras. Eufy’s new doorbell has two cameras to monitor...

BI Clips and Archiving, mainly dealing with New and Alerts

these all appear to be deep stack post analyzed pics, as they have an analysis percentage on them. Many of the ones that i looked at from yesterday dont, but the number of files from yesterday morning (midnight to 9 am) is about the same as this morning (339 vs 287 files).

BI Clips and Archiving, mainly dealing with New and Alerts

I went in and changed all of the individual camera settings last night from Hi-res JPEG files to Database only and then went to bed. This morning, it appears that thigs did not change in any meaningful way. Does the BI service need to be restarted to take affect? I have attached a Trigger...

BI Clips and Archiving, mainly dealing with New and Alerts

Ok cool. I think i will add cars back on for the cameras that have my driveway cars in the FOV and see how that goes on false triggers as a trade off to idling cars going by on the street. I want to get this dialed in, but remain unclear as to what does what. As it is now, i am seriously...

BI Clips and Archiving, mainly dealing with New and Alerts

Thank you for clearing that up. i looked for that clarity of recording purpose in the docs when setting it up. On a related note. if i have Deepstack find cars, and i have two cars parked in the driveway in the middle of the frame, but also have a section of road at the top of the frame. how...

What could be causing IR glare?

That is the problem with dome covers on lenses. If you install an IR blaster off angle a few degrees and turn the built in one off, the problem will largely go away as well. I assume that you already know that the FOV is way too wide for this location, by about 3x. a 6mm or longer would be...

BI Clips and Archiving, mainly dealing with New and Alerts

I think i want it the way it is now, basically. perhaps with a few optimizations over time. Am i correct that you are referring to the "Record" tab "video" selection pull down for each camera? I am presently choosing "Continuous + Triggered". There are "continuous" and a "continuous +...

BI Clips and Archiving, mainly dealing with New and Alerts

Perhaps i am missing something with this simplification, but isn't that basically the situation that i had above that created only two days of 'tags" in the calendar, but forces it down to no tags if no jpg is recorded in alerts? or is it inherently different if the selection is database only...

    BI old recorded viewing question

Ok, I will try to clear up what I was getting at. First off, clips have nothing to do with the issue, so what I was looking for in my example of 3am was a time when I had few clips to prevent them from getting in my way. Below is a screen shot of this morning time line. If I double click on...

    BI old recorded viewing question

I seem to be too dense to figure out a simple back and forth recorded viewing option in BI. I would appreciate a bit of help with this trivial issue. example: Lets say i expand the time line below the real time all cameras live view (green clock icon). If i want to look at one feed from the...

BI Clips and Archiving, mainly dealing with New and Alerts

I plan on recording continuously for at least three weeks. I am not 100% sure that it is happing at this point, but I believe that my setting of "continuous + triggered" causes it to happen. I am also not 100% certain that all of the continuous is in HD (vs only during the triggered alert plus...

BI Clips and Archiving, mainly dealing with New and Alerts

@wittaj , I figured that the Alerts was set too small, and bumped it up from 1GB to 15 GB (and age from 7 days to 30) when i discovered the issue and while i waited for more information and someone to comment on the time line synching of the two folders (perhaps also including the db folder, but...

BI Clips and Archiving, mainly dealing with New and Alerts

I need a bit of help with regards to BI Clips and Archiving setup, mainly dealing with New and Alerts. I am using DeepStack as a trigger. I have my cameras all setup as dual stream (main and sub D1), and use direct-to-disk. Does this mean that I should be creating two file sets in the “New”...

    Image quality problems on T5442AS

Inside Corners near doors are particularly hard to predict placement angle of pivot and FOV. One thing that amazes me is how almost every single time i try to pre-determine the exact perfect spot etc, it is not true after i power it up and play with it for a while (see @looney2ns suggestion)...

    Image quality problems on T5442AS

I agree with the 90 deg corridor / image shift and the moving down and away from the white walls. The camera FOV is too wide for this location. Is this a 2.4mm lens version? Ideally, you should not see the walls or door at all in the image, using all the useful pixels on target.

    DeepStack dogs cats and boxes

I am slowly ramping up my BI + DeepStack game. I added dogs and cats to my objects (and removed cars and buses from my indoor cameras). One odd thing is about 70% of the motions made by my dog are flagged as CAT, and about 70% of the motions made by my two cats are flagged as DOG. It is...

Wired IP Camera For Front Door Recommendations?

I feel that 95% of the action at my house is at the front door. It is for that reason i feel that one camera is not enough. It is hard to beat a good dedicated doorbell camera (ring alert, audio, viewing angle and FOV). I am on my third :). They still need some improving, mainly in false...

    Local Console Login?

    How to upgrade firmware

The data sheet says that it has dual streams, but i see only one available at a time in the GUI. Perhaps the firmware would fix that, now that i want the sub stream for BI bit rate /CPU % reduction. I might need to try the batch tool. The link above @Kyle24la did not seem to work, but i...

    How to upgrade firmware

Dielectric grease for the rj45 plugs

TO assist and help debunk much of the confusion historically around this topic, Dielectric grease is simply silicon grease. It is an insulator to electricity. Many people think that it "improves" contact resistance by lowering it. It does not. It also does not prevent it from conducting as...

Last update (i think). I think it is cleaner on W 10 Pro, which is what it was supposed to be (probably messed up the original install choice a while back from the MS USB). I sucked it up and did one of those sketchy upgrades to the license key (home to pro) via the Win Settings > Update &...

@sebastiantombs , @wittaj Thank you. that at least narrowed the problem down. I don't believe that i set a password nor set the user name to "Blue Iris" when i set up the computer, but who knows. I clearly did not need to enter a password to log in (that i am sure i chose at install time)...
