OK, I'm stuck, no live view on new NVR, but camera is working.

I installed smartpsslite on my son's pc, I have now found out how to select an NVR channel. (My son has configured a right-click to work on the left-side of his mousepad, so I was never right-clicking previously). Now I see this: The image is from the cam, and the failure is from the cam's...

OK, I'm stuck, no live view on new NVR, but camera is working.

I installed smartpsslite. It found the NVR and the camera's Ip addresses on the Network, which was then added to the default group. When highlighted the camera in live view I could see the LiveView image. When I highlighted the NVR I couldn't get an image. Then when I went into search mode (...

OK, I'm stuck, no live view on new NVR, but camera is working.

I don't know what hacked cams would cause. These aren't that. The NVR and camera were bought through @EMPIRETECANDY. The NVR is seeing the cam and recording it properly. I can see that from the HDMI interface. The issue is I don't see the camera footage when logged into the NVR directly with a...

OK, I'm stuck, no live view on new NVR, but camera is working.

Ok, reporting back. I exhausted the Edge suggestions in the referring thread; nothing got me talking to the NVR. I uninstalled Pale Moon when I realized I needed the 32-bit version, not 64 bit. The 32-bit didn't work either. I tried switching to "https" in the NVR but could no longer connect to...

Thanks, @wittaj & everyone else for your help. I will continue tomorrow, but I am calling it at night for now.

I've done that, but there is no difference. I don't think its in that direction as I have only 1 camera and never use the Edge browser.

Ok Solo, with all streams either at H264 or all streams at H264H makes no difference. Everything is set at H264 now. I have never seen anything here either.

No, I haven't done this. What will it show me?

I presume when you mean "solo" the camera, you mean log directly into it from its own IP address. If so, then Yes, I can and I can see the main & 2 substreams on Edge. I can do this P2P on my phone as well. I have tried many encoding settings, this is what is on there now, they transferred from...

OK, I'm stuck, no live view on new NVR, but camera is working.

Yes, my TV is connected to the HDMI output of the NVR and I see it perfectly. Even before I log in to the NVR with the mouse & a password. (via the TV) The NVR live view screen behaves differently now when I open it in IE mode, there is no spinny thing just the "No entry" camera. I still get...

I wasn't asked to install any plug-in when I opened the NVR in the Pale Moon browser. Back to spinny thing in Pale Moon:

OK, on a different PC with Edge, running the NVR tab in IE mode it asked me to run a plug-in which I did. The spinning circle has now changed to this: I also opened the cam IP tab (which was working anyway), in IE mode. There was another plugin again which I also installed.

I didn't use IE, barring the blue "e". But I have full camera functionality logging directly into the camera via Chrome. There have been no problems with changing camera settings with that. ( My IE has stopped working).

OK, I'm stuck, no live view on new NVR, but camera is working.

Hold on a bit. I think I have activated the firewall setting, so I can't talk to the NVR via the PC now. I'll have to reset things via the mouse. But to answer your question, I saw my camera name appear and just a spinning circle thing where the camera is. This moved to a different pane if I...

OK, I'm stuck, no live view on new NVR, but camera is working.

I have a new Dahua NVR 8 channel, no POE, the latest EI version, and one camera, the Dahua Dual Lens 180 Degree Full Color 4K (8MP Stitched) Camera. The latest firmware on both. It is powered by POE switch and I can view it when I press the "e" here: I have edited this line to add the camera's...

    Hello, just joined.

I'd prefer not to use HA, as I also don't use it. I understand relay, but code is beyond me.

    Hello, just joined.

@CanCuba If you know? I would like to know the recommended method for longer-distance cameras to switch on lights when a zone is triggered remotely. I may also use stronger white light but selectively turn them on for different zones. Is this doable without being a HA expert? ( Which I...

    Hello, just joined.

Yes, high-wattage 940nm lights combined with very low-wattage white and 850nm lights off-camera and also using some thermal cameras is the way I intend to go.

    Hello, just joined.

Thanks, ordinarily, I am a big believer in good lighting. However, the situation in South Africa is unconventional in that the country is stricken with daily bouts of load-shedding. These are rolling power cuts to prevent the national grid from overloading. That won't affect me electrically as I...

    Cliff Notes query?

I still see that model for sale. Did the later hardware attract a different suffix? So I could be sure.

    Cliff Notes query?

Just in case I ever come across any new old stock. Do you know the full model name of the particular 49225 hardware that can be flashed with the auto-tracking FW?

    Spotter Cam capability question.

This is exactly what I am looking for, to be able to send a PTZ in tightly to different places for different alerts. May I know what PTZ model this is as it looks very capable? I am just setting up my first NVR now, I just received it today, thanks @EMPIRETECANDY

    Spotter Cam capability question.

That's excellent as a Dahua NVR is what I just purchased. Is the requirement also to only use Dahua cameras?

    Spotter Cam capability question.

Alternatively, with two different PTZs say the left zone of a single spotter cam selectively trigger PTZ1 and the right zone selectively trigger PTZ2?
  27. P

    Spotter Cam capability question.

With an NVR, can a spotter cam direct a PTZ to cover an activated zone and then direct it to another geographically different activated zone? In other words, can a single spotter cam direct a PTZ to cover multiple areas ( like the left area or the right area), or is there just one PTZ preset per...
