    Was wondering if a 75-watt solar panel plus a deep cycle 12V battery 40Ah would be enough to power a 5241E-12E for long? I want to mount a camera near the street to capture plates, no continuous motion recording so power consumption should be at super minimum. It wouldjust capture snapshots.

    Are you using DHCP with the NVR? Is the router on the same subnet as the NVR? That's probably why.

    How to keep same aspect ratio for all camera live views?

    So I tried that, force anamorphic size. Then I set it to 640x480 (for example) when it is in sub stream. I see it trying to resize to 640x480 with the vertical rainbow tv colors. Then 5 seconds later, it switches back to its preferred setting. Oh, well, I guess I will live with it.

    I have tried to force the resolution in the camera video settings. It tries to resize it, but then after 5 seconds, it jumps back to its default size. I think it is trying to size it accordingly to fit in the full-screen view.

    New iDMSS Version 4.90.000

    The DMSS app seems way better than the iDMSS app. They got the playback feature down correctly now and it is much easier to use than before. The "out of memory" problem is still there occasionally if you scroll to fast or play too much. The preview thumbnails of each camera is a sweet feature.

    How much power does an NVR use?

    NVR4216 is less than 9.5watts without on-board POE. With onboard POE, it is less than 15.2watts. This is just the NVR itself, not including the HDD. Compared to a PC, I can honestly tell you 100%, a Dahua NVR consumes significantly less power than a regular PC running BI 24/7.
