    Wide vertical angle camera

Well I did try that and it did nothing. But I get the idea. Physically rotate the camera 90 degrees and then rotate the image. Check all of my other cameras and they don't have that option. Maybe its time for an upgrade?

    Wide vertical angle camera

Are there any cameras that have, for lack of a better word, taller vertical view? I have one located at my entrance area outside my house. The space is about 7' wide and 8' tall and about 12' deep. I have the current 2.8mm camera placed up in the corner on the wall with the door so that the...

    PoE Switch Suggestion List

Not for that price. The 1532's are only 802.11n and the 1540s are still expensive. How far away from the building are you that you can't get a signal from?

I use used Cisco APs as well. 2702i's are $25 on eBay and support AC wireless.

    PoE Switch Suggestion List

I have used Cisco switches for over 20 years, never bought any new ones. They are all rated for millions of pps and line rate throughput. They have squirrel cage ball bearing fans and last forever. The 2960s I use at home was manufactured in 2011. just steer clear of anything cheap like...

Interesting. I will check it out next week.

What high spec server would you choose for 50 cameras?

I don't think so. There isn't much that isn't passed through by default when it comes to the CPU features on ESXi. I have run different NVR software in the past on ESXi guest VM's before with 45+ cameras and it never missed a beat, so I know it's perfectly capable. I need to do some more...

    LED Light Interferance

I picked up an EmpireTech 4K Full-Color Ultra Low Light 8MP. Outstanding camera. Outdoor picture quality is awesome and the web interface is a step up from what I have been using. I was doing some test shots indoors and I noticed that when I had it in areas where there was LED light fixtures...

What high spec server would you choose for 50 cameras?

Interesting. I can't even get one 4k camera working smoothly with these specs. Latest version of BI - 5.7.6.2 E5-2630 V3 ESXi 7 - Latest Patch Windows 10 Guest VM (Fresh install) Raid 6 - 8 x 10K SAS disks 16GB Ram 8 Cores assigned to the VM IPerf from my desktop to the server shows 980Mbps...

    Sizing a GPU

I'm going to check tomorrow, but maybe I need to review all of the settings again. Do you know if there is a debug logging system for BI that I can use to narrow down the reason?

What high spec server would you choose for 50 cameras?

Are you running BlurIris on the server? I am guessing that your CPU doesn't have support for hardware encoding? I have run similar systems (45 cameras) with a different NVR software with similar specs as yours without issue, but I can't seem to get BI working on anything other than desktop...

    Sizing a GPU

Ok, good to know. I guess I will go with plan B and get a dedicated machine to run BI.

    Sizing a GPU

Hello, I have an E5-2630 v3 Xeon running ESXi 7 with a Windows 10 Guest VM. I tried setting up one camera on this server and it pinned the CPU at 100%. If I enabled the sub stream I could get it down to about 20%. Not sure why the CPU usage was so high, no matter what settings I used it...

    Recommended or current popular cameras

Ya, I would never think to go back and read a post thinking it was edited. I don't need to nor would it be feasibly possible to have person recognition over 500,000 sq feet. Vehicle and machinery recognition within reason is all I am looking for. And if the longer distance coverage areas...

    Recommended or current popular cameras

Yes, this is part of what I am working on and I know you can't just change the focal length to improve recognition. I wouldn't expect to recognize anyone from those long ranges and the only person recognition will happen close to the buildings near the doors. Most of the coverage areas...

    Recommended or current popular cameras

With so many camera options, which are the models/brands that people are the most happy with? My current need is for coverage of a large open outdoor area with a few buildings that have 16' to 18' high walls and some areas of very low light and some areas that are lit all the time. Roughly...

Point to Point Wireless Bridge Recomendations

Yes, I don't like the injectors, but they work. I have in the past used a coupler on the RJ45 end and extended it with a patch cable so that it can all be hidden in a rack or cabinet somewhere behind everything else and the patch cable is nicely routed in the cable management brackets. There...

Point to Point Wireless Bridge Recomendations

Mikrotik SXTsq 5 AC. Just a quick search, and its probably gone up in price a bit, but it is listed at $65 per radio on their site. There are many resellers available in all countries so finding them is fairly easy. https://mikrotik.com/products https://mikrotik.com/product/sxtsq_5_ac You...

Point to Point Wireless Bridge Recomendations

I second this. I have used Mikrotik for 20+ years in -45 cold climate on 140' towers and they have never let me down. I still have some units that are 15+ years old and they still work. At this point I wouldn't consider anything else because you can get a full Mikrotik 5GHZ AC link for $100.00
