    Review-Dahua IPC-HDBW4231F-E2-M Dual Starlight Cam

This is 100% exactly how I have mine setup. Same left side wall position, height and everything. Works beautifully.

    Review-Dahua IPC-HDBW4231F-E2-M Dual Starlight Cam

If you have a need for the dual camera functionality, I can highly recommend it. Works beautifully for what I wanted/needed (watching people approaching front door & looking down for packages on the ground at the front door). Zero issues with it.

Want to rotate image 90 degrees - Can't - Resolution

Had to step it down all the way to 1920x1080 to be able to get it to allow the 90 degree rotation. So from 8MP to 2MP. :(

Want to rotate image 90 degrees - Can't - Resolution

I have one of my cams (2831) setup and decided I'd like to try rotating the image 90 degrees. After hitting Save in the cam UI, an error message appears saying "Current resolution doesn't support this function". Is there a resolution setting somewhere I need to adjust to make this possible or...

(2831) Missing WDR setting on one cam

Okay...well, on one camera, if I select the Day profile, there's no option for WDR (which it needs for daytime hrs). On the Night Profile, I moved it back to BLC. On the other, if I select the Night Profile, there's no option for WDR...so that takes care of that issue. so then the question now...

(2831) Missing WDR setting on one cam

UPDATE: Okay, something weird discovered here. On one 2831, if I select the Profile Day under the Backlight settings, I have the WDR option - But NOT with the Night Profile. On the other 2831, it's exactly the opposite. On both, If I select the Normal Profile, I have the WDR option. What's...

(2831) Missing WDR setting on one cam

I have two 2831's running the exact same firmware (2.800) One of them has the WDR option available (which is needed) while the other 2831 does not (also needed for the other cam). Is there some other setting that I might have selected that then negates the WDR option from being made available?

    Dahua and Intel HA

Just installed another 2831 last night and when I went to enable Intel HA, the setting wouldn't hold. Did some quick searching and it appears that Axis cams are having some issues with Intel and HA...so on a whim, I changed the 2831 from H.265 to H.264H. That allowed Intel HA setting to stick...

    8MP eyeballs?

No, don't need color at night. I just didn't list the non-color value because they always just seem to list it a "0 lux" (5831) 0Lux/F1.8(IR on) Why do they do that? Why don't they provide a non-color, non-IR value ?
  13. ck42

    8MP eyeballs?

    Yeah, that's the style I want...and I'm not even expecting a Starlight version of it...but was hoping that the low light level of the 2831 could fit this format. 5831: 0.05Lux/F1.8 (Color,1/3s,30IRE) 0.2Lux/F1.8 (Color,1/30s,30IRE) 2831: 0.004Lux/F1.9( Color,1/3s,30IRE)...

    8MP eyeballs?

Yeah, I've migrated away from all my previous HiKV's except one...but if it turned out they had one that met the specs and was a turret....

    8MP eyeballs?

Looks like the best HikV 8MP turret has these light specs. It's a 1/2.5" sensor: Minimum Illumination Color: 0.01 lux @ (F1.2, AGC ON) 0 lux with IR; color: 0.014 lux @ (F1.4, AGC ON) 0 lux with IR The Dahua equivalent (non-turret) which is 1/1.8" sensor: 0.004Lux/F1.9( Color,1/3s,30IRE)...

    8MP eyeballs?

Thanks, Fenderman. So, you don't know of some sort of technical reason why the DH-IPC-HDBW2831T-ZS is not available in a turret design? They maybe think it wouldn't sell?
  17. ck42

    8MP eyeballs?

More just wondering, but why are there no 8MP eyeballs/turrets? There's domes and bullets... Or are there and I'm just not seeing them? Looking for an eyeball equivalent of the DH-IPC-HDBW2831T-ZS

Hardware Decode setting: Anything besides "No" creates image issue

I've attached an image of one of these cams. ....looking at my own image...I think I might see the issue...not sure how this setting got this way, but I don't use the "Smart Codec" option. Disabling this and trying again now. [EDIT] Seems like disabling the Smart Codec option fixed it...

Hardware Decode setting: Anything besides "No" creates image issue

Running 4.8.4.5 I had been running my cams with h.265 (which you can't run any hardware decoding with, I know) but then switched back to h.264H (Various models of Dahua cams and 1 HikV). After doing this, I then setup hardware decode back to "Intel". Note: The HikV cam doesn't support h.265...

    264 vs 264B vs 264H ?

Yep...that's what I thought too. At least...from the Google hit that brought me to what looked like the main h.264 wiki...ZERO on 264B, 264H. Try it.

    264 vs 264B vs 264H ?

Thanks. That gets me started. But...did spend 10 or so minutes already doing some Googl'ing and was shocked at the lack of results on this topic. That's why I ended up posting this thread. :)

    264 vs 264B vs 264H ?

Have a new cam (2831) and noticed that I now have the B and H options. But after spending some time searching, I'm not finding anything clear that describes the differences in these 3 formats. Anyone able to comment on the primary attributes of each...compared to the other? (Good, Better, Best)??

Dahua day/night settings - the basics

Okay...so all my cameras are already running that version stated in that thread. According to that thread, the "Day/Night" option *should* be acting/working as an auto-Day/Night option! Time to test! Hope this works! If so, then this topic is moot.

Dahua day/night settings - the basics

Sorry to dredge up an old thread, but I just happen to be fiddling around with my cameras and had the same basic question. Did a quick Google search and this thread was the first hit. My main question was/is: Where do I set the configuration that tells the camera to use its own sensors to...

beepsilver: I had the same need (look down for packages - look at oncoming visitors) and went with this: IPC-HDBW4231F-E2-M/M12 Works perfectly! LOVE this thing. Forgot to mention: Mine is located about 7feet up on the left wall...and about 1foot out from the door.

    Review-Dahua IPC-HDBW4231F-E2-M Dual Starlight Cam

Just got mine and am pre-staging it. Problem I'm seeing is that while logged in directly to the cam, I'm on the Live tab...and cam only seem to get 1 camera showing video at a time. They both seem to work - I just can only see one at a time. Is this expected? EDIT: Just got the camera(s)...
