Hey all, I'm another long time lurker that's been trying to do my homework with what brand of NVR setup to go with for my first. Originally I was thinking of Hikvision due to purchase options from Nelly's Security and milkisbad with their warranty and good user feedback. As I read more...

Recommendations for New Security Camera System

I suppose it's a typo of some sort as both NVR are listed to have 50mbps bandwidth while I do see the 7108 shown as supporting max 2MP cams.

in doing more research, don't forget to also get a junction box for your hikvision turret to hide cables, etc. a different model is needed if you go with a dome/bullet cam. http://www.nellyssecurity.com/1280zj-m-junction-box-for-h-series-exir-dome-security-cameras.html

this will definitely be my very first system but I also don't want to cut corners on quality as again, I plan for the installation to last quite some time (barring any defects or equipment breakdown). are there any other reputable resellers worth looking into?

Thanks for the replies so far. I'm definitely still learning/reading up on all of the options. Nelly's Security has come up in other searches and their markup is quite high for Hikvision versus what I see elsewhere but you do get 3yr warranty and guaranteed updates from Hikvision for cameras...
